Have you ever had one of those days where it seemed like you spent most of the day chasing your tail? I spent the bulk of my day trying to find a gift certificate from a fund raiser I attended last year.

It is one of those certificates I knew was going to expire soon, so I continued to search and search. And of course, the last place I looked for it...there it was. ;-)

I have to say, I found many interesting items during this quest for a small piece of paper in a plain white envelope. I found a couple of cards I meant to mail, a report I needed to read, a couple of twenties and a few other items.

Was this a blatant waste of time? Or the "age issues" catching up with me? Or do I need a little more balance in my life and not so much PAPER?!?

Have you ever spent the day searching for something you knew you just had but it mysteriously relocated itself?

The day is gone now start tomorrow on a better note. Have a plan to not chase your tail but instead 3 items that you will complete before 11 am.

Ideas 5 note cards to past co workers from your career before realestate.

Take a walk and stop by three businesses that you know and ask them how things are going and if you can help them at all with getting the word out about there business.

Do something for you that will make you feel great.

This will make up for today

Found a couple of twenties! That would make it worth it to me. You have discipline not spending that gift certificate right away. If it were me it'd be way spent by now.

Thank you for the suggestions. I completed about 20 items prior to 11 am but that certificate was still not in my hands!

My dog thinks it is funny when I chase my tail. I guess he is getting even with me for laughing when he does it...:-)

I myself am terrible with gift certificates. It seems I am a hoarder...then I lose them....by the time I find them they are expired. I am currently trying a different approach where they are living in a pocket of my briefcase. So far, the only difference is I don't have to look for them! ;^)

ANN - If I put things where they "belong" I don't have to do the search thing. Too bad I don't always put things back where they should be. It would save quite a bit of time.

Well, I don't have a tail, and I don't think you do, either, so I suppose that's a nice way of saying chasing your donkey. LOL

My wise old grandmother was always putting things in special places so that she would always be able to find them. She was never able to find them when she needed them. I, however, was almost always able to outthink her and find what she was looking for.

I don't hide things and prefer to simply file things away in appropriately labeled files, drawers, etc.
