Calling All Leaf Peepers To "The" Weekend in the
Greater Hudson Valley of New York.
Color on the trees has gradually been increasing this week and if you wait until next weekend you may miss the best colors.

changing colors of fall

I took these pictures at the intersection of Route 302 and County Route 48, the area known as Thompson Ridge, on October 9, 2008. As you can see the color already is really vivid on some trees and the others are sure to follow soon.

We have plenty of activities in the area to keep your weekend filled with fun.  The Pine Bush Area Chamber of Commerce is sponsoring a Pumpkin Festival this weekend. There are many pick your own pumpkin fields in the area if you would rather head out to gather a pumpkin or two yourself. Hiking trails are abundant and the beauty is everywhere.

What I like most about fall color is that it s fleeting and momentary!

Paddy - great color, I miss upstate New York in the fall. Our trees haven't started changing here yet, we still have a month or so. And they won't be as naked for as long as the ones up there.

Paddy, I recognized the photo location right away! I loved that drive! Looks like a great year for color. Enjoy! We have just a fraction of color here, but do have some! The first year I got so excited that we had foliage color in our back yard, in December too!

Morning Paddy,

Fall colors are so beautiful and entertaining. I do miss that part of living up north. My best friend and her family, the live in central New York, left this morning to drive north just to see the foliage. They make a day trip of it each year. Now that we can't join them we look forward to the pictures they send us. Life's greatest gift can truly be a small thing!

Hi Ginger, I see this on my way to the office every day.  It is awesome to watch the leaves change.  I am glad you are enjoying your new place.

Thanks Hal.  I hope they get some great photos for you.  Have a good weekend yourself
