A friend of mine sent me this powerful video. Please view it and then look at my comments below.
We focus our attention on what the media tells us is reality. Most of us focus on what the media wants us to focus on and we fail to see the opportunity that exists. Today, many Realtors are focusing on fear and uncertainty. When we allow the fear and uncertainty to take control of us it is difficult for our creative minds to go to work and take advantages of the opportunities that exist.
When dealing with our spouses, significant others or co-workers how many times do we focus on ones faults or one event and fail to see the big picture that includes all the good traits of that person?
When someone tells us something many of us take it as gospel and then believe what we choose to believe based on what we have heard. The old saying that there are two sides to every story is oh so very true.
When we go to work in the morning or come home in the evening do we notice the incredible sunrises, sunsets or cloud formations or do we miss them because we are too busy focusing on traffic, our destination or talking on our cell phones?
Let us open our minds and look at the BIG PICTURE. Opportunities just may arise from this new way of thinking.

George- What you focus on expands. There is so much opportunity out there for anyone! You create your reality. So it might as well be a good and prosperous one! There were more millionaires made during the great depression that at any other time until the dot com boom. That is a long time! And you don't hear about that because that is positive and hopeful.
George- Great way to make a point! I saw a similar video before and missed the ape on that video, luckily I picked it up the second time! Glad to hear you're "crazy busy" as well.
George you sure know how to tell a story. We have had some success in this crazy market. It is time to strike now. This is opportunity knocking at everyone doors.
George - many times focus is clouded by outside pressures. And while we should be strong enough to see that immediately, well .... many times we're not. Life is about choices - and the choices we make are all up to us. I choose to be successful - not in spite of the market ---- but maybe BECAUSE of the market.
Glad to see you in the Rain. Thought you went up in the mountains and decided not to come down. :)
George -- perspective is everything. It is important to practice looking at the big picture and even putting yourself in someone else's shoes. This is where real personal growth can occur!
George, I have to admit I was so busy counting the white shirts that I did not see the ape. I do have a tendency to get very focused on whatever I am doing. I can sit reading a book while the tv is blaring and not even hear it. There is a time to be focused and also that time where we need to be watching what is going on around us.
George - I totally missed the APE!! What a fantastic message you have shared. I truly believe in the power of positive words and how that can effect our daily life's.. it's often times easier said than done! Thanks for reminding us to see the bigger more positive things in life. Great to see you posting!
George - I have decided to take a vacation from the media! It is so beautiful this time of year. I went for a drive and took lots of pictures of the beauty of fall in Southern New Hampshire. Sometimes, we can truly miss the big picture and even life itself! Hope you are doing well and thanks for an important message.
George - you quoted the old saying of there are two side to every story and I know how true that is. There is another one that also hits home I know you believe what you think you heard, but what you heard is not what I ment ... we have this tendency to hear only what we want to hear and ignore the rest.
Great Blog and I love the idea of 2 sides to every story...I apply that and put your self in the other persons shoes...that usually allows for a clear and percise action...looking forward to reading more...
