I Actually Like The Changes on AR

By
Real Estate Agent with thredUP.com

I just logged in to Active Rain about 10 minutes ago for the first time today and noticed the changes.  At first I was wondering what the heck happened, but after a minute or so I found the Dashboard. Then, right away I noticed that there were a few people complaining about the changes...

Well, I actually kind of like it.  At the top of the page I can now search by topic or go to my subscribed readers if I want to where before I would have to flip through endless pages of blogs to find something written a few hours earlier.  And OMG it is so much faster!!

So with that said I say 'Thank You' to the AR Guys!

One small change in my opinion may help out some people that are confused.  Right now we have to go to the Home Page to find the 'All Blogs' button to get to the dashboard.

Where if we were to also put the 'All Blogs' Button on our Home Page in the Top Left Corner, it may be easier for those who can't find it...just a suggestion.

Stephanie, I just roll with the punches. After all the changes since the beginning I found it easier to simply accept and move-on. Your suggestion is a good one, though.

AR keeps us on our toes!

Hi Gena,  the changes always end up being positive even if the ideas are rejected my members at first.

I've slept on it and had horrible dreams of chasing blog butons down dark hallways and through fire.  I still want it.  It will be ours.

The changes grow on you (once you can find things) .. am sure it is all for a good purpose. Our 2 cents.

Hey Steph - I was at my new office yesterday and helping some new agents sign up for Active Rain and felt so lost - LOL - I did help 2 new people get signed up and FINALLY found a way to get to the blog dashboard however I didn't know how to find the Newbies group to direct them to so I'm still learning my way around.

It strikes me that these changes should actually help most people who didn't like the ease of which consumers could bounce to other blogs - it's more like each of us has a blog and a" resource center" - that's my impressions at 20,000 feet - just my humble opinion! :)

I've mellowed with time and found AR keeps doing things to help us so think I'll save my conspiracy theories for the US Government and Wall Street for now ;-)

Hi Everyone,

Okay, okay, I cry MERCY!!!  ;)

The "Blogs" button will return to the navigation header very soon (maybe tonight). We were concerned about not having enough room in the navigation bar.

Thank you all so much for your feedback.  Each time we make a change we pay close attention to our member's feedback to help give us guidance.

Hi Jonathan,

I still think that hide and seek with the blog button would be more fun.  :)

Jon, set that Jorgen (if that's his real name) Hahn guy free as well.  I think it is safe for him to return to the Rainosphere.

The changes are very good. I would like the blog button back and the logon button back on the top row.

Hi Stephanie.  I too am coming around.  They obviously want to drive us through the home page.  Good spot for featured posts and featured members.

Thanks for writing,

Ken

John, if you're going to readd the blog button, why not do so for everyone's personal admin profile page. That way you get to keep the space you've created when you removed it on the main navigation bar. Just our thoughts. Keep up the good work.

I follow you... but I want fast access to my subscribed blogs.  I found the right place, but I like having instant access no matter where I am in the rain.

I never really conisidered that some people wouldn't be able to find it. You're right. That would be a better place for it.
