Ch-ch-ch-ch-changes! Turn and Face the Rain, Ch-Ch-Changes!

(For your listening enjoyment as you peruse my Friday afternoon musings, I give you David Bowie)

Jorgen Hahn, our resident Rollerblading Expert and Matthew McConaughey impersonator, was taken into protective custody earlier this morning by Federal Agents after receiving a number of vicious death threats stemming from the abrupt removal of the BLOGS link button on the popular real estate network, ActiveRain. Though we could not confirm or deny, anonymous sources revealed that Mr. Hahn has been enrolled in a witness protection program, and is now an employee of the Best Buy store in Dubuque, Iowa, working for the Geek Squad.

A generous reward has been raised by a very irrate group of 'Rainers' (slang term for ActiveRain members) organized by ring-leader, Amanda "I Hate the Blog Button Change" Hall, demanded a speedy return of the cherished BLOGS link button.

News of the BLOGS link removal on Twitter sent stock prices spiraling further downward. CEO Jonathan Washburn was unavailable for comment.

U P D A T E: An anonymous tip just came in to our Missing BLOGS Link Button Hotline with a location change for fugitive Jorgen Hahn. He's been moved from Dubuque, and has been relocated to a safe house in Upper Manhattan, and will be posing as an understudy for the male lead in the Broadway production of "Xanadu."

As the tide of member dissension is rising, ActiveRain Poster Child, Brad Andersohn, has mounted a massive search for the missing BLOGS link. Stock prices for RealSeekr closed on Friday at an all-time high!

I want my BLOGS link! How do I get to Dubuque?

I found it about 5:00 a.m. this morning. I've been directing traffic all day.

It is annoying that everytime you now go onto Active Rain you have to spend time learning the newest change. It would nice, like we used to, to go on just read posts without the changes. Sometimes we dash onto the site and if we can click quickly to where we want to go we have time for it but when we get there and can't find out we want without spending time at it some of us are annoyed. Make light. We earn a living when we sell real estate not when we spend time figuring out the latest change. JMHO

Rich, what is going on, its not just the blogs button, my online counter keeps disappearing and my groups rearrange themselves, But I love AR!

Rich, I have been bugging Brad about this. I thought you guys had a small defect in your last release or something. Anyway, tell Brad about the "Not so Liked" change. AJ

I couldn't figure out all day how to get back to the main dashboard but was able to find the all blog button. Just need to get use to the change!

I like the changes! I tell people that I am not really all that into points because they can be stripped from us at any time so why consumer yourself over it! So I have to put a slash after the website and eight more characters "bloghome" and I am there.

Very funny. Too bad the new drop downs don't go in front of the ads. Becoming unreadable in most screens. Also, not very crazy about the organization and the layout of the new sections, but heck, maybe it'll grow on me!

Triple Julie rollerblading in the rain, now there is a romantic sight I would love to see. We like playing in the rain as well... especially when it's a misty light downpour. That atmosphere is great for taking photographs and you know how I feel about my eye candy (LOL).

I am personally not a big fan of the change and hope they bring back the link. It was much easier to find previously. However, with all the changes of as late, who knows what will happen next. I wish for a public message to be sent to at least introduce the changes. Why do we have to wait for it to happen and then a bunch of people complain, and then we have to search for a blog about it? Why not introduce the change before it happens and/or when it happens?

I believe this button can be integrated elsewhere so the move is not unexpected for us. Furthermore i often rely on my associates list which lets me see who's actually posting material to their blogs. No matter where you put our buttons, we'll either find them or find away around them as this network allows us to find what we're looking for in multifold ways. Thanks as always for your humor. At least now i know why the stock market has been tanking as of late.

Ok, so I failed the early morning intelligence test... BIG TIME. I know you guys have a grand master plan and explaining why you did away with the blog button would probably make me blow a mental fuse... but please, oh, please can we have it back? Lots of people on AR aren't having enough ...... I LOVE what you guys do, and I love change (which is part of the reason I'm not married!).

I don't have a blog button by my name either- there are enough market aggravations without having to deal with the annoyance of not reading my favorite blogs here. Just means significantly less time here. Any other good sites out there that have great (simple to navigate) blogs? I'm all ears.

We Want The Blog Button Back!

I found an easy solution to the drop down menu problem - I installed Flashblock on my computer and it blocks all flash objects, swiches the big ad to a small arrow - I have to click on it to see it.

Normally I don't like to adblock images on sites I frequent because the revenue is important to the site, BUT when the ads interfere in the basic functions of the site, all bets are off.

so firefox users can go download Flashblock here.

I really don't see the point in removing the general blog button - if you must remove it then put it on the header of our personal "home page" where many of us land when we come to AR. I think it' stupid to have to click on my blog and then find the blogs link THERE.

Come on - change is good but show a little respect for your members too.

It just sounds like another excuse to have an Activerain Bailout.

I thought it was just a bad dream that I couldn't find the button yesterday and had to have Lenn and Kris and Charlie and Richard help me find it. BUT ALAS poor me, the BUTTON IS STILL MISSING... day 2.

Nothing like a little humor to get the morning going.

Presently, I am leaving my campaign trail (running for coroner of my county) to write a bill to take to the Big House where they are holding Jorgen (for playing naked Bongo) and Rich (in protective custody just for writing this post) who is currently redecorating Martha Stewart's cell.

In exchange for the return of the Blog Button:

-Jorgen's name will be added to spell check so that big red line won't remind us that he is the taker of blog button (which created a black hole in the universe).

-Jorgen gets an endorsement deal with Rollerblade

-Rich is allowed out of witness protection

I logged on late last night and was LOST without the blog button but it was too late to spend a lot of time. I figured someone had Blogged about it but had to find where. Then, this morning with apparently fresh eyes I saw it when I logged on after "Home" in the top line. Of course, I then found this blog to confirm that others - had the same problem - and missed having the button. Glad I found it.

Well, this is a fun post, you handled a frustrating situation in a humorous way. I don't care what you guys do it is your network and we are guests here.

But.........you knew there would be a but.

You don't have guests show up and then not be home.

One simple post would have helped all of us and you and Brad who had to deal with it all yesterday.

I spent all morning looking, emailed a few folks, finally went shopping.

Then I came home and still couldn't find my wonderful bloggers I subscribe too.

Finally called Brad and he walked me through it.

I still vote bring the blog button back. But, with the way the election is going do you know if my vote will be counted or if I have registered more than once once and am stealing the election?

Dear Rich, My button's missing? I've been too busy taking calls -from Arizona wanting to know if this was The Peaks of Otter Lodge (no, you just found my blog, let me get you their number) and a call wanting to know about salsa classes (no, you just found my blog, let me get you the number) and a call from a nurse wanting to submit a resume (This is not the Bedford Hospital, let me get you the number) - to notice!

@jasoncrouch Rich and Jorgen still appear to be missing or in witness protection. But hey, now we know that AR is the reason for the stock market crash.

Maybe the blog button disappearing was part of the 850M bailout.

And since I've been tagged as a traitor, I still think AR hide and seek with the blog button would be fun.

If we find it maybe we can trade points for a years worth of the sponsored community of our choice?

I think I found a break in the case of missing blog button

I think Rich's 'update' is just a way to buy time for him to sneak out of the country unnoticed. My sources tell me that Jorgen just boarded a plane bound for a non-extradition island in the Caribbean.

Rich, it looks like I missed all of the fun. I emailed Gary Woltal when my button went missing. He's my go to guy when things go wrong here. I wouldn't dream of bothering you! Someday, you might feature one of my posts! Hint hint!!

It's unclear who was actually the button-bringer-backer as rumors are flying everywhere, but we know that us blog-button-lovers are the reason.

Presently, I am leaving my campaign trail (running for coronerdog catcher of my county) to write a bill to take to the Big House where they are holding Jorgen (for playing naked Bongo) and Rich (in protective custody just for writing this post) who is currently redecorating Martha Stewart's cell.

In exchange for the return of the Blog Button:

-Jorgen's name will be added to spell check so that big red line won't remind us that he is the taker of blog button (which created a black hole in the universe).

-Jorgen gets an endorsement deal with Rollerblade

-Rich is allowed out of witness protection

At least i am not alone in this madness. I had thought it a hallucination at first. Thanks for returning the button. Now that everything is okay with AR, we just have to restore sanity to the rest of the world.

Thank God it's back ! I was so angry with that button being gone Firday and the fact that I couldn't find a darn thing I shut my pc off, deleted a blog I was writing in draft and started searching for a platform that was user friendly ! Woo Hoo, it's back !
