A Builder Called

By
Real Estate Agent with BAIRD & WARNER, NAPERVILLE

I was out showing new construction today. These homes are listed in MLS with an agent. And, while many had sign-in sheets, I'm not sure that those sheets will be seen or even read. Or rather, who will read them.

So, I emailed every listing agent and registered my buyers. Made sense to me.

And, I just got off the phone with one of the builders. His listing agent had forwarded my email registration.

Builder: Eileen, you are the first agent who has emailed me a buyer registration!

Me: Really?

Builder: Yup. And, I will put the information in the file.

Me: Great. I have my email copy. I'm just surprised that more agents haven't sent you emails. It seems so logical.

Builder: It sure does. And, thanks. By the way, did your buyers like the house?

So we talked about the property for a bit. And, I asked him about activity as I had been out previewing on Saturday and didn't see too many cars. He said that it was picking up...that it was a late Spring!

Amen to that! A late and cold Spring.

Good for you!  I wouldn't be surprised that you  could end up being that builder's agent somewhere down the line.

Hmmmmmmmmm,

Thanks Roger. I hadn't even thought about that. Usually builders develop a relationship with a broker and tend to stay with that agent.

Eileen, it has been a cold and slow spring.  I had 3 showing today and a preview.  Let's hope it's a trend!  Sherry
