Tonight I was asked to drive my daughter and her friends for Homecoming. No, they didn't have dates and Yes I said YES!!!
Rather than just drive... I dressed in all black, got a top hat and treated them like stars. I opened the doors for them, took pictures like paparazzi, served them non alcoholic sparling grape juice in plastic flutes and let them laugh and laugh and laugh.
I was so honored my daughter wanted me to be with her and her friends. I even overheard one of the girls saying how her mom would never do something like this - and then they asked if I would drive again for Prom even if they had dates....
It was GREAT helping making a high school memory one they will remember together! THEY are special & should be treated that way.
... and, the beautiful girl in black second from the left is MINE!
Susan, my partner and I went out for dinner last night and there were many young people in the restaurant that were out for homecoming. It is so nice to see them all dressed up and having a good time. I am sure your daughter and her friends enjoyed the star treatment you gave them.
Ok, we must totally be sisters! I am always dorking around with my son and his friends. I chaperone all the dances and every time I try to recruit help, the other moms always say, "oh, my son would die if I chaperoned!"! So I asked my son if it bothered him, (like it would matter) and he said, "no mom you are cool!"! I love that kid! :o)
The girls look like they had a great time. I wish there was a photo of you in there too!
Susan, with the current price of gas and the inflated cost of renting a limo for special occasions, I think you may be on to something here. Just out of curiosity, what would you charge to be our "driver" when my wife and I hit the town to celebrate our 5th wedding anniversary this month :) JK.
How fun! I just drove my son and his 2 friends to homecoming this past weekend. We didn't have as much fun as you did, but for 8th grade boys 'trying' to be cool, I think they had fun. Thanks for sharing

Too cool, Susan!
I definitely feel the love. Nice photo, too!
