Active Rain is a highly addictive avocation, hobby, business tool, network, marketing vehicle, encyclopedia, a past-time, a place to share, a place to vent [but be careful] refer to Guidelines. Some things will not be tolerated, take it from someone that has had over 7-10 profiles PERMANENTLY DELETED because of BAD ON-LINE BEHAVIOR. But that is a totally different story!

Here comes Rich Mielke, Frederick MD, REALTOR, CRS, ABR, E-Pro : Behind The Lockbox  :: Home : Blogs :

And tells it like it is! Active Rain is about as active as it gets!

I have been wondering just how active is Active Rain

I see there are over 114,000 members on here. I rarely see more than a few thousand showing online at any time. Some members have a gazillion points, are featured members and have their posts featured all the time. Some members have a few hundred points and that is it. Is Active Rain too intimidating for people? Do some people join and then give up after a little bit?

In many ways, Active Rain is like the greater real estate business. Some people jump on a marketing idea, give it a try and when they don't see an immediate result, they give up. I have heard agents say that they aren't sending out calendars this year because they didn't get any business from the ones they sent out last year. Or, they farm an area with a few mailings, then give up. Active Rain takes an effort, but you will get from it what you put into it. Read other people's blogs and comment on them. Take the time to comment on the blogs of people who comment on yours. Use the search feature to look for things of interest. Take some photos of your hometown and post them to Localism. And by all means, look through the posts under the Help/FAQ link. There are a lot of great posts that will improve your Active Rain experience. Before you know it, You will be addicted to Active Rain.

I'm glad you found the reblog. I'm not sure yet what the benefits of reblogging are- but when I see something interesting- I like to give it more exposure.
