The 14th Annual Pinelands Jamboree was a huge success...I got to pet a rabbit, large enough to put a real scare into Monty Python devotees, and I met Dottie, a pot belly pig about 6
months old…very cute! No lions, tigers and bears, but goats, ponies and fancy chickens! All the critters were courtesy of local 4-H Clubs. I grew up with horses, rabbits, chickens, dogs, cats etc, so I got to be a kid again!
There were also crafts, books about the NJ Pinelands and its rich history, food, music and all things Piney!
The Jamboree whet my appetite for
more information on the NJ Pinelands...its importance to our survival and the fragility of its unique ecosystem.
