Military PCS to Naval Base Kitsap – Pet Friendly

I have never completed a PCS with pets, but have had several friends, clients, co-workers who have. Depending on how you are arriving to Washington State will depend on what services you need and what information may come in handy for you. Here I have compiled some links to help you navigate the PCS with Pets Process or the PCSPP!

When you use the search feature and type in “moving pets” you will be given several links to research. There is one that is written by military kids to military kids “MTOM”==> Click for article. If you can’t find your answer I always suggest using Military One Source – this magnet should be on your fridge!

Now that I have given you some broad information on the PCSPP I really want to get local and give you a list of Pet Friendly motels and hotels in the Naval Base Kitsap area of Kitsap County. JO SOSS helping her military families relocate into the Naval Base Bremerton / Bangorarea! I have found the list sometimes allows me to be the subject matter expert on Relocation when potential clients mention they have a pet. Jo, you have to guide me on getting a Google map into my post, I have failed three times, so I have given up! How did the showings go with Angie?

I've done one of the ultimate PCS moves with pets. We took both a cat and dog with us when we moved to Japan! Both of them traveled in the same cage together on a long long long flight. We were able to check on them in Alaska and Tokoyo before we finally were able to uncrate them in Okinawa. They made the trip fine with no drugs. Today they don't allow you to put two pets together in a crate but we think this helped them handle the stress of the trip since they were best buddies all of their lives.

Cindy, I too agree that they probably handled the flight with less stress traveling together. Poor babies! can you only imagine!

Cynthia, you know like I do that our pets are family too. Right now I am trying to find some extended stay places.

Jo- Another post with a lot of information and value. Would you be willing to write a few and post them for me? =) Pets are such an important part of many families. Their needs are important in the home buying process too. We need to make sure we can offer advice and information.

I did do a PCS to Bangor from Charleston, SC. We have a large lab. There were many pet friendly hotels along the way.

Marty, I have found that some of the larger chains like the ones I listed allow pets in almost all their locations. I am not a fan of the east to west or west to east pcs!!

This blog does not allow anonymous comments
