Conservation is King with KainePulley Seal

Governor Kaine issued a press conference release last week asking residents of Virginia to focus on energy efficiency and conservation in their homes. This is a reminder that comes at an important time of the year - just before we start heating our houses for winter.  You may have read in my earlier blogs about some of the efforts I have taken to reduce energy consumption in my home.  That effort continues and I encourage you all to take steps in the same way.  This week, I finally purchased the PULLEY SEALS I need for my windows. These should decrease the energy loss during both the heating and cooling seasons.  I will let you know how it goes!

The website I used for these is http://www.jrproductsinc.com/shop/pc/home.asp

Never heard of a pulley seal.  We are so lucky not to need heating or cooling in our home.  If it gets too cold, we just close the windows... haha.  Good luck with your winterizing.

Very funny Georgina.

When it gets too cold here we put blankets and pillows "in" the windows.

I have never heard of pulley seals either. More to learn, always.

Thanks for the comments! Our home was built in the early 1900s. The windows are old (probably not original though). We get a decent amount of efficiency with good storm windows, but I can still feel draft at the window pulleys. I am hopeful that this will make a difference in the heating and cooling bills!
