Decatur Street, Brooklyn, New York

I have this new construction listing that is priced to sell. It's a gorgeous home, a six bedroom double duplex over double duplex townhouse close to public transportation and surrounded by Brooklyn Brownstones. It has off street parking and has a lovely, over grown backyard. The only problem is, every time I go to check on my firms inventory I find myself having to chase someone off of the property because they want to see the inside or think it is a cool place to hang out (e.g. the steps).

Why do people think it is okay to trespass on private property? Checking to see if someone is on location so one may receive more information is one thing. Having a party in someone else's yard because a construction company owns the property and a person observes the workers go home is another thing entirely. Thank God for the neighborhood watch. They will pick up the phone and call in a heartbeat. I love conscientious neighbors. It also helps that the Democratic Club is right across the street on the corner. Busy activists who care about their neighborhood are a Builder's and Realtor's friend.

The builder installed motion lights, a security fence, security gates, an ADT system, two security cameras, but somehow a miscreant still managed to break the front windows, which now have to be replaced... Hmm... When did the mindless act of rock throwing become cool?

Know anyone who wants a spanking two family home approximately 30 minutes from Manhattan for $499,000? Tell them to call me. I would be more than happy to assist them in this endeavor. This home needs a family.  http://www.TannStarr.com

Miscreants is right.  A public flogging might curb their nefarious activities... or not. :)  Great house, Carolyn!

Thank you, Jesse. It's a shame how some people act towards other people's property.

Hmmm, I can't see that happening here.  But then we aren't as crowded as NYC.  Sounds like a good listing for you.

It's a great looking place, hope you move it soon. Sorry to hear that you're having to battle interlopers in the process though.

Hey C: Is a double duplex over a double duplex a fourplex? :)

Who knows why people do such horrible things. Somebody threw an egg at my car windshield. It dried, so when I lifted the windshield wipers, the blades tore off. Good thing my husband knew how to replace them. But still. Why?

Kelly, that would be lovely, wouldn't it? :-)

Mel, my market has lost it's mind. It's like Stephen. It does what ever it feels like doing... A double duplex with that type of square footage usually has a valuation from $550-$690K. $499K means lots of equity for someone somewhere. I was not kidding when I said it was priced to sell. :-)

Shirley, a very good listing. :-)

JL, so am I but we have to do what we have to do.

Liz, I wish I could talk them into staging it. I know just the person I would call for the presentation (LOL).

Elizabeth, too funny! Isn't a fourplex a four family containing four separate apartments. Broker's exam strikes again (LOL).
