Rich in history, the Georgian colonial estate known as Raspberry Plain, since 1731, is set on fifty rolling green acres overlooking the Catoctin Mountains. Brick pathways surrounded by herbs and wildflower gardens nestled between ancient trees, wind through the sun-filtered grounds leading to the mansion and formal gardens. The mansion's portico offers a spectacular backdrop for any event on the South Lawn. The North Lawn boasts a breathtaking, majestic view of the mountains, pastures and pond. The hall's sparkling chandeliers, detailed archway and dramatic staircase, announce the elegance of the mansion's rooms. All the mansion rooms have glass paneled, double pocket doors, fireplaces and original detailed ceiling molding.

One of the highlights at Raspberry Plain is the spectacular Grand Conservatory. This two-story high room features walls of glass arching in the gables and French doors leading to the formal gardens and walkways. The stone walls, large columns and massive cherry-trimmed windows compliment the surrounding panoramic views of the formal gardens, pond field and distant mountains. The Grand Conservatory has the capacity of 200 seated guest with room for musicians and dancing.
Whether it's summer, winter, spring or fall, Raspberry Plain offers a worry-free plan for your next special event.

Bryant  I assume the original building is the center structure only and the wings were subsequent additions especially since the wing elevations are not similar to the center,  However, it is a great place and, as usual, your photographic professional shines,  Art

Art-

I believe the center structure is the original building, the Grans Conservatory on the right of the building is certainly newer but the left hand wing is a very close match if it isn't original as the bricks match almost perfectly.

Bryant,  I noticed Arthur commented on architecture - he isn't always right, but his track record is pretty good.  However, I think the left wing is original,  Karen

Karen-

I think it might be to as the brick work is so close and I know from personal experience how hard it is to match bricks in color and texture that aren't from the same lot, but I am by no means an expert! Regardless the building is beautiful and I can't for the life of me figure out why I didn't take any pictures of the beautiful interior rooms. Thank you both for the kind words.  :-)

Bryant, you can make a room with chairs on top of the table look good.  I always LOVE your pictures and these are gorgeous.

My husband is from Sterling and been to/through Leesburg probably thousands of times.  Where is the estate?

Sassy-

It is on Rte. 15 headed towards Point of Rocks, MD. I used to own a Townhouse in Sterling, that whole are and all of Loudoun County has changed enormously in the 10 years since I have lived there.
