When you think about Poverty, do you discard it and think

"It doesn't involve me....there's nothing I can do?"

Think again - think of the Power of Intention and know that everything you do makes a difference.

Poverty is not only a pressing issue, it is a complex one. It's easy to think that there isn’t much an individual can do. Fortunately this isn’t the case at all. With activities ranging from advocacy and professional contribution to charity and financing, there is in fact many ways that we can act.

You can make a difference - if enough of us take the time to give back, we can change the world.  Here are some things you can do:

  • Donate money to a worthy cause
  • Volunteer
  • get involved with local organizations like Habitat for Humanity
  • help someone that needs you

Ines - a powerful message here on a serious issue. I am proud that I head up the fund raising committee for our Southern California CRS Chapter and raise funds each year for Habitat. I have also donated money to other organizations personally that work on this issue. I admit that some moneys go to other charitable organizations like the Children's Miracle Foundation, among others overseas.

We can all do something.

Jeff

Ines, You're very right...we can ALL do something to help, big or small.  And sometimes the smallest beginnings turn into some very huge rewards when you are helping others.

Ines there are many many ways to get involved and make a difference.  We all have something that we can do no matter what our time or financial constraints are.  We are only limitation.

Hi Ines,

Wouldn't the world be a more wonderful place if everyone volunteered at something?

BTW, are you going to be in Orlando for NAR next month?

I know many people who live below poverty level. We don't always have to look at other countries to find people in need. We can always find people to help in our own cities, or those close by. We make it a habit of buying groceries for struggling families. It's a practical way to help, and frees up their funds for othere things they might need.

Hi Lisa - there's a homeless shelter here in Miami and we are constantly taking food over to them - it's amazing what a single act of kindness can do to a person (THANK YOU)
