Judi,

I am working VERY hard to get you back to Louisiana!  This one would do it.  I just know it would.  Come on over and I'll give you a personal tour.  How is Life treating you?  I have been so busy with this remodel that I have lost track with everyone.  Good to hear from you.

Derenda,

Yes, this one would work -- square footage is perfect.  Acadian Style -- 4 Bedrooms and 3-1/2 Baths!!!  Great for when friends from Texas come to visit.  I love the Study/Office with all that storage -- I could probably get organized in there.  Kitchen is really nice too -- granite counter tops and lots of storage and counters (to spread everything out when I'm baking and cooking).  I did tell you my Dad was the baker at Daniel's Bakery and at the LC Country Club -- I guess I got the baking from him. :)  Love the front porch and the back deck.  I can see some nice rocking chairs on that front porch and imagine entertaining family and friends on the deck -- yum, I can taste the fried fish already -- or maybe a crawfish boil out there -- yum.  Ok, we're not ready to move yet.  Don has to have a job there before we can move or we have to wait until retirement.  Will be home for a visit  during the holidays -- we have the dates set -- hope we can get together.  MK promised we'd all meet at one of the neat restaurants, I'm looking forward to it!  :)

Was thinking of  you today--wondering how the renovations are going.  I'll call you to give you the date of our next visit so you can put it on your calendar.  :)

Judi,

The trip around the Holidays sounds great.  We will make sure that we have a LONG visit.  I am looking forward to it.  The renovations are coming along great.  I have a fantastic crew of guys working here.  The contractor is one that I work with a lot and I trust.  When he tells you he is going to do something that is what is going to happen.  Rare, but refreshing.  He and his group of men have been a real salvation.  Things are going well.

Erica, what a nice comment -- my Dad worked for Mr. & Mrs. Daniels for many years baking his delicious brownies, sand tarts, german choc. cake and banana cake plus the pies -- he baked and decorated many birthday and wedding cakes too.  Sure do miss him too.   When I go home to Lake Charles, when I'm on Kirkman, I slow down when I pass where the bakery used to be.

Wow!  Judi, I can find you one like this, or close to it.  Come on over.  We talk about this from time to time.  I even bake some pretty good brownies.  Ask the Guys at the office.  You just have to retire and move back home.  I know there is this thing called work where you Guys make so blasted much money.  Oh Well.  Until you tire of doing that, good to hear from you.  Erica, I know what you are going through with renovations.  Good luck.

Derenda, Don loves his job -- he's not ready to retire yet.  lol We do talk about moving home when we retire though.  I bake some pretty good brownies too -- but haven't found any like the ones my Daddy made at Daniel's Bakery -- my recipe is close but not quite as good.  :)
