Occasionally during my day, I stop my car to enjoy a site and shoot a photo. Today was a particularly nice day in the Washington Park area.  The gardens in are full bloom and the temptation was irresistable, I parked, grabbed my camera and toured the garden.

As I was posturing for the best "shots" I noticed a gentleman watching me.  He was working in the garden.  I asked him, "Is this Your Garden?"  He grinned and said "yes!"

We chatted about the remarkable collection of plants and how well he had matched up the dark and light colors.  He was truly an artist and I told him so.  We introduced and shook hands.

The pride in his eyes was so strong, I could tell he loved his work.  At that point I just had to have his picture.  He was so thrilled, but kidded me about being on America's Top 10 or something.  I knew that could never be true, he was just a tad bit bashful of having his photo taken.  He obliged  me.  I told him I would blog about his magnificent garden tonight.

I don't think he knows what a blog is, but he was cool with what ever I said.  I after all I was a guest in his garden.

Active Rain, please allow me to introduce Breck of the Denver Parks Department.  He is the guy who takes care of our many city parks.

He makes my day and millions of other's days too!

Noticing and appreciating people like this make them feel good -- and makes us feel good.  Hope you found out where to send him a copy of the photos.

Sharon, I wish I would have gotten his addy.  I will probably see him again one day.  I'll just keep them in my car.

Nima, You must supply the darts!  They should come with the poster.  All Brokers would really like that!  :)

Beautiful gardens Kristal. I love flowers! Those pictures make me want to lay down out there with a good book. The man should be proud. What an awesome talent.

WOW... great pictures, but also what a random act of kindness you did by complimenting his gardens.  Wonder when someone did that for him last?

Good for you....

Great pictures! Wonderful story!

Have you noticed that becoming a blogger makes us more aware of our world? That we stop and notice things. That we are in the here and now. Just like all good Buddhists.

Random act of kindness?  I hope more people compliment him than just I.

Eileen, Yes, I am more aware of what's going on around me.  Trying to come up with inspiration for a blog topic is the reason why!  And that....is a GOOD thing!

Have a great day.

Kristal,

I think what you did was just so wonderful.  It speaks to the depth of your character.  I knew I liked you... you keep reminding me why!  I'm sure you made his day.  Hopefully something wonderful happens to you in return.
