Today is Blog Action Day. So what, you might ask? Today's the day you can begin making a difference in  the war on poverty. Wherever you live, you can make a difference.

Where I live, the Community Action Partnership is making a difference in a multitude of ways. CAP provides community cool centers during extremely hot weather to provide safe, cool places for people to escape the heat. Their vision is to end poverty in Riverside County in thirty years. You can join their fight by calling (951) 955-4900.

Tom - all one has to do to help is find an organization, such as the ones here in your post, that you can relate to and get involved some need assistance and some need funding we should choose and just do it

Tom- thanks for the resources :)  We are very lucky, and I remember working for a hotline in Riverside giving resources to people....and one aspect of Poverty is not knowing what Resources are available.

Tom,

It sounds like there are some very good organizations in your area who are doing what they can to help....your post may help them to gain more volunteers and donations and perhaps other communities will endeavour to set up similar organizations.

This sounds like a great organization.  The key for us is to get involved -- actually get up and DO something.

I have to thank you as it was the blog you posted about Blog Action Day coming up that got me involved.  Awareness is the first step towards solutions.  Thanks, Tom!

This is the first that I've heard about Blog Action Day. Is it monthly, quarterly, annually. Perhaps as I continue to have fun blogging, I'll find out about these types of events sooner.
