Above and beyond the call of duty!

I knew I liked my dentist.  He's charming, he has a good chair-side manner, and he's gentle (in other words "he don't hurt too much").

I like him enough that I've recommended him to quite a few of my friends and family members including my mother!

I had a call, today, from my mother.  She told me she was at the dentist's office (about 5-6 blocks from my office), and I figured she wanted to go to lunch.  But instead, she told me that she thought her tire on her little V.W. Bug was flat.  I wasn't looking forward to this... Oy!

It was raining, and I was wearing nice clothes today.. I'm gonna get muddy, and yucky... So I asked... "is it FLAT-FLAT, or is it drive-able-flat?". She said, she thought it was drive-able... So I suggested she drive over, and I'd take it to the service station and fill the tire... a much less messy solution.  She said she'd call me when she was done with her dental appointment, since she had "cracked a tooth".

She called me about an hour and a half later.  I asked if she was ready to meet me at the service station, and that's when she shocked me with "The Dentist Changed My Tire".  I said "you're kidding, right?... You mean Dr. Hohman went out in the rain, in his lab coat and changed your tire!?"

Yup!  That's exactly what he did!  Talk about customer service.  He went above and beyond the pale!  Kudos to you Dr. Hohman. Kudos to you!

Gees, that was nice!  I don't have the same dentist.  As a matter of fact, I should change mine!  It's like 'Little Shop of Horrors'.

I know, Melody... I told my mother that the dentist was a better "son" to her, than I was.  I was gonna call Triple-A... but I wasn't gonna get down-and-dirty with her rear axle.

Richard, Cameron and Elizabeth... we're all agreed, this dentist is a prince.  Once before, when my mother was at an appointment at his office, during a snowstorm, he helped her "dig her car out"... this guy has won my loyalty, and the loyalty of anyone I can steer his way.

Wow ... changing the tire was probably like pulling teeth for him.  Piece of cake. :)
And your Mom has great taste in cars. :)

Good line, Sylvie... now I see what Liz was talking about...

Laurie - so true... we could all take a lesson from him.

I would certainly suggest holding on to that dentist!!!   There is nothing worse than changing a tire in the rain and for him to volunteer is amazing, what a nice guy!

Ted... I forgot to mention... he had another patient waiting... as he was out there changing the tire, the next patient arrived, and he waved to her and said "I'll be right in".

She walked in and asked "What's Dr. Hohman doing out there"... and my mother filled her in.  She waited patiently (pun intended) for him to finish, and commented... "what a nice guy"!

Mary, I did tell my mother "Now you have to pay his bill on time!" (she has a history of paying him in 90 days or more).
