As I sat patiently in the Ophthalmologists office with Cas this afternoon I took the time to read the current issue of Lore Magazine that has been sitting on my 2' pile of "Reading Material". Lore MagazineI found the article about Channing Dawson the "visionary" behind Home & Garden Television to be very interesting and a rude awakening for many "Old School" real estate brokerages and agents who haven't gotten on the Social Networking bandwagon.

Mr. Dawson also includes Active Rain as one of the places that agents should explore to understand the trend and "tap" the movement.  A laughed when he said that an investment of 20 minutes a day can bring you up to speed.  Yeah...  That's just how long it takes me to read one of Lenn's posts!

I hope that you enjoy the article...

I would love to know your thoughts.

That IS funny. If it were only 20 minutes a day, then half the Active Rain members wouldn't feel like they could benefit from a 12 step program to get the time they spend here under control. . . .

Hi Debbie.  I am beginning to think this social networking might be for real!:)

Anyway, good article.  I was slow on the uptake but am trying to keep up with you young whipper snappers.

20 minutes a day is a laugh.  I now go from place to place there are not enough hours in a day.

Mary...  I laughed about 20 minutes... That doesn't even scratch the surface of the first step.

Ken - You think...  I see a lot of traditional brokerages resistent to this business changing before their eyes and they are trying to change, but just want it to stay the same.

Mel - 20 minutes doesn't even scratch the surface... What it tells me is that they still don't get it.

20 minutes?  It takes me 20 minutes to think about doing something for 20 minutes!  Very nice blog Debbie.  I like your selection of widgets, or whatever the heck you call those things in your sidebar!

20 minutes? No way. I am new to this and already getting "sucked into the void" so to speak...20 minutes or two hours!?

The time spent on AR is a good investment.  There is so much to learn and so many have some great ideas, cool tools and more.  I don't mind spending time on AR and 20 minutes per day certainly isn't enough.

Rich - No one can catch up at that rate... Being up to speed, just not possible.

Chris - I wish that were true but I don't think he's quite up to speed himself.

Samantha - I'm with you, I get sucked in all the time.

Jon - I'm with you... 20 minutes just scratches the surface.

Good form of multi tasking! I usually carry something in my bag to read in those off moments.
