As you know Professional home staging is the latest Real Estate craze...but have you ever wondered what home staging would have been like in past era's?
2008...1990...1960...1930...
Hop back into The Home Staging Time Machine as we travel through time to see what professional home staging would have been like in the 1930's!
With the 1930's came a new era of style known as Art Deco.
Every stylish home stager would be wearing fabulous attire when they went calling on Real Estate agents or visiting clients for a home staging consultation.
In the Spring and Summer you may have worn something a little lighter like these darling dresses below...ranging from .89 cents to $1.89
Gosh, at those prices I would have a closet full...even in this economy!
Your clients home may have elements of art deco in the architecture. Most of its furnishings may have also been of the art deco style.
Today these draperieswould be the first thing a professional home stager would recommend be taken out of a home, however in the 1930's, if you had draperies of this caliber you were probably the talk of the town!
Your mode of transportation for you business may have been this 1934 beauty!
Your inventory would have been very stylish...full of art deco pieces to fancy anyones taste!
This beautiful walnut armoire from the 1930's shows the typical style of the art deco designs.
This art deco table lamp would have been a nice accent piece to add to your inventory...and can you imagine the excitement on your clients face when you staged their dining room with this gorgeous set...or how about this bed in the Master Bedroom!
Artwork in the 1930's was very colorful...and reverse paintings were a very popular part of American decor.
Much of the 1930influence is still prevalent in our furnishings today! For instance the Barcelona Chair was introduced in the 1930's and can still be used in 2008, in any contemporary setting!
If you were a professional home stager in 1930...after a long week of staging you may have found yourself visiting your local theatre to watch the latest Hollywood movie from a very famous little girl.
Of course when you went to powder your nose during intermission, you would only use the highest quality compact. It even doubled as a pendant! Oooooh!
Mirrors were a huge part of the 1930's decor. Your staging inventory may have included several different sizes and styles.
The 1930's decor was very stylish and had a new contemporary flair. I think this may be one of my favorite era's of architecture, art and home decor!
