OMG!!!! I've Been Googled.

The Past Four Days I Have Been Home Sick just laying around the house feeling like pooh doing what I can on the computer while my partner Darla takes care of things at the office. Basically I wait for my wife to get home so I can whine and complain as to how lousy I feel. Probably the reason she has been working overtime at Her office this week.

Anyway Today My Daughter and Son in Law Come Over to do their laundry, newlyweds so why not use Mom & Dads stuff, and while we were sitting on the patio Jon, son in law, says he Googled my name a few days ago and it came up on the First page of Google with a blog on a place called ActiveRain. Go Figure!!! After explaining Ar and my blog to them Jon offers to take new pictures for me as they think my current picture sucks but the blogging thing is cool. I give up!!!!!

Many of You May not Think Showing Up on Google is a big deal but to me it is a Big Deal as I am fairly new to blogging and those who know me understand I'm Technology challenged. After the kids left I Googled my name and sure enough there I am. I'm Famous!!!! So then I proceeded to Google my name followed by Real Estate and lo and behold I am in the first 4 out of 5 on the first page of Google. Anyone want an autograph?

My Scoreboard on Ar is Not Very Impressive Compared to some but I did sell a house two weeks ago to an investor who found the listing on my blog. That's a Great thing because when I started blogging I didn't think it would be worth the effort but that I would give it a try and if it didn't work it would be Astalavista.

This SEO stuff is New Math to Me But it's time to go back and read some posts of the folks who understand it such as Katerina Gasset, Lynn Harley, Brad Andershon and many many others as apparently SEO is real and ActiveRain has Google Juice as I have heard. Wonder what Google Juice tastes like

Cameron, believe me the SEO is real! I just love it. I began three years ago attempting to get my presence known on Google and I know how much work it takes. I google my top search term now and my AR posts are still before my website...as you said, go figure...

That is so cool! My husband always wants to know why I am "blogging" but then he hears about people finding me and he gets it now. I am challenged too, like you but the more I do it, the more I learn and the more I realize that I don't know! Ahh!

Hope you are feeling better. Don't over do the sick think, they the reluctant care takers, will put you out to pasture. LOL

Congratulations on establishing yourself on goggle. It takes time and effort, both of which are well spent.

Cameron - Congrats, seeing yourself on page 1 of Google is very exciting! Having clients find you on page 1 of Google is even more exciting, having your son-in-law report this to you? Priceless! LOL~ So when can I get that autograph? :-)

Cameron, first of all Amanda is the funniest person around, isn't she?? Secondly, I'm so sorry you aren't feeling good. Is it because Amanda is stalking you? Third, I like your picture. I find it unnerving when people change their pictures as I get used to looking for them by their faces.

I like being on google too. Just yesterday, someone emailed me because they googled a restaurant they frequent that I wrote about. It seems they left their new prescription eyeglasses there and have not been able to reach the restaurant! Really. That is the kind of contact I get. Others get million dollar buyers. I get emails about lost eyeglasses. Here is the email, cut and pasted:

Susan - I am trying to get ahold of someone at Roux 3. Your posting showed up when I googled the phone number. Had dinner there about three weeks ago and left my new prescriptions glasses behind. Have been back several times to find a sign that they are closed due to a hot water heater problem. Left a few messages too. Any idea how I can get in touch with someone? Thanks.

Cameron the more work you do the better it gets! I have done quite a few posts on how agents can improve their position in the search engines. Many are in the social networking and SEO channels...check them out and good luck with you SEO:)

Cameron: Hope you are feeling better! As for the kids and the picture, they are just trying to get in on the action and feel a part of the excitment. Then they can google you in front of their friends and say, "I took that picture. It looks soo much better than his other picture." It's really neat to see the results on a search. Keep up the good work.

Cameron-Hope your have had a full recovery. I run a google check ever so often just to see what does pop up. I have been surprised a couple of times. LOL

I remember the first time I googled myself. Big fun! And my mom recently told my brother I had "made it" because I'm on the internet. He emailed me through my website to tell me so :~) Congrats on your google juice (which I believe is the taste of success!)

I loved your city when I visited and Keven and Linda Lee made us a wonderful dinner. I sat out in their garage and drank with the neighbors, it was beautiful and fun. I told Keven that you could take him out of Georgia, but not get Georgia out of him. We didn't get to a winery, but hopefully next trip. My in laws are just down in Chula Vista, so we're kinda regulars out that way.
