I was listening the other day to a recent recording of Mike Ferry at his One on One Retreat last January. And as we all know not everyone can appreciate Mike...for me he was the savior for my career in 1991! So I love the guy.
Mike has a way of putting it to you bluntly and that is what I love about Mike...no mamby pamby suck up stuff for him, just straight forward in your face real estate sales. I know some people can't handle that but it works with me.
What he said was something like this: "When you drive up to your office everyday...do you have pospects lined up scheduled to see you at your office door? Is your voice mail full of people requesting you to come list their home? Most of us don't!
So...if their not looking for you...and your not looking for them...how do you think your going to do any business"?
that's probably not the exact quote...but I think you get what he means. Every real estate trainer out there will tell you to prospect everyday for new business, yet agents won't...and then complain everyday about not having enough business!
When will some agents learn IT's NOT THE MARKET...IT's THEIR LACK OF WORK ETHIC!
