Lending tree is the absolute worst company. I have spent 2 days and 1 month trying to disconnect with them

Do not get involved  call me for questions...I think a class action suit is overdue. count me in!

Never sign up with them.

Lynne,

Sorry to hear about your problems with LT. May I ask, was this as a Realtor? Some kind of contract?

I've only used them for a car loan, many years ago. Was this for real estate?

Doesn't this qualify as boycotting?

I had very bad experience with few internet based lender, and once I had clients credit score dropped by 100 because lending tree sold there info, and about 50 different financial institutions was checking their credit. Please give us some details so we know what to watch for. Thanks

I understand explaining a bad situation that we can learn from, but I don't think that we should be naming companies and saying to avoid them at all costs.

I've only used them once for a credit card, but can't say what the experience would be like for other services.  This was also a very long time ago.  Will presenting the facts presented in the absence of subjective information regarding your experience still leave you with concerns about posting what happened that leaves you warning us others?

as a realtor I used lending tree for 6 ms. when I cancelled the contract they accepted the final payment and a month later they said I did not cancel. I was on the phone and internet for hours with them some people could not find the account and would give me to someone else. After telling me I did not cancel they sent me an email that they had debited my bank account. I called the bank and they said they had not debited it and I put an official stop  payment to all Lending tree. They claim that when an invoice goes out --even if it is for the month ahead that I have to pay or go to collections.

The experience is very fresh and it was very upsetting. I wanted to warn others of the lack of integrity they have in our relationship. I found no value in their service and less value in their tactics.

We have to stop buying our own leads.  With a great web presence and the power of a national name brand (RE/MAX) is my particular favorite and easier to spell for the consumer than the other r..website - your listing and buyer leads should come to you.

Great Post, I explained on another Blog about this company. You are better off spending your money on local ads and developing a Lead Capturing Website. The leads are horrible. Received one from Mickey Mouse himself!

Lynne,

Thanks for clearing this up, and I agree with Robert, we should be getting our own leads organically. Buying them made me sit back instead of being proactive. My contract with one company is up at the end of May. There will be no more leads purchased.

Lynne, thanks for clearing this up. I have closed several Lending Tree loans and wasn't sure what you were referring to. Sorry you had such a bad experience.

I completely agree. I refuse to buy leads. There are too many other options.
