The 2008 Presidential Election could certainly go down in history as the most interesting race faced since the election of President Kennedy. The interest in this election is high and there was much said tonight about "Joe the Plumber" during the debate. Is this the "Real Joe"? Doe's it really matter?

Isn't it wonderful that we live in such a democratic country where we are able to individually have an opinion and cast our vote?

Just make sure you VOTE! It's you're RIGHT.

THINK ABOUT IT? DO IT!

I think "joe the plumber" needs a class on taxes when he gets his plumbing licence. If he knew how the tax code worked he'd know that 3% in the upper bracket wouldn't affect him as much as the tax on the health benefits he would hopefully be providing his empoyees. Poor Joe, and poor bank that lends him the money to buy the business. He obviously is not the brightest plumber in the world. If he doesn't understand taxes I seriously doubt if he could make his business work. You are taxed on net income not gross. Net is after all expenses are taken out. Gross is obviously what you think you will be taxed on.

Poor Joe - Because of his notoriety, the press found out that he is an unlicensed plumber, and owes the IRS back taxes.  I think he has a little business to attend to before he buys that business he's dreaming of.

I bet he'll be glad when that 15 minutes of fame comes to a close.

Debbie, it is a shame when a person is chastized and picked apart for asking a question in his own neighborhood.  While he certainly received notoriety, it was not worth it in the long run.

Tim and Pam - I couldn't agree with you more and have felt bad for him with all the media at his doorstep. You're right, all he did was ask a question.
