Thanks for the photo journal. I really like that first picture. I was in Colorado back in college on a forest-visiting expedition. We saw a stand of trees on the hillside facing north, and the north sides of the trees were all colorful purples, reds, and oranges, whereas the south sides closer to the hill were green or pale yellow. The purpose of visiting that specific stand was to illustrate how trees react to cold. Trees need cold in order to show those magnificent fall colors.
