I beg you to read this blog post and pass it on.  Galveston needs your help.  This could be you no matter where you live.  Mother nature can rear her ugly head anywhere.  Maybe not in the form of a hurricane.

This post is about Galveston residences who are getting no help from our government.  Residents who may have insurance ye the coverage is not enough.  The coverage offers them no temporary housing.  Did you know that the national flood coverage does not offer benefits for any temporary housing aid??  This falls under general homeowners yet when your house floods you can't use that coverage.

PLEASE READ THE ABOVE AND PASS THIS ON.  WE REALLY NEED YOUR HELP AND THE MEDIA DOES NOT CARE.

This post is focused on my bother yet there are countless other just like him.  His friend was granted a FEMA trailer yet they can't put it in Galveston because its a flood zone.  HELLO Katrina was a flood zone.  ALL OF THE GULF COAST IS ARGUABLY A POSSIBLE FLOOD ZONE.  Parts of Vegas flooded once due to rain when we lived in Nevada.

Help us please.  It could be you next.  Pass this on.

Christina, We hear you in Southeast LA. I personally have just finish my last repairs from Katrina and Hurricane Gusta and Ike blew by. FEMA is nothing as far as help. The biggest suggestion I have is push your insurance company to pay fast and do what ever your planning. It is not a easy road and my hopes are with you and your family. Good Luck.

The situation in Galveston is devastating and is masked by all attention being on on the presidential race along with the econmic challenges we all face.

It's shameful and frustrating to the residents there...

How can we rally people to contact our legislators about this?

Strangely this seems to have fallen below the media's radar and I've not heard any politician mention disaster planning or recovery as an issue at all.  Very sad.  And isn't just an issue with flood areas, if a large earthquake hit the west coast have those plans been adjusted post Katrina and Ike.

Thank you Frank and Michael.  I feel for your pain in LA Frank.  Michael any help would be appreciated beyond any words I could express.  I live about 20 minutes off the island.  Everyone I know has lost everything and they just don't have the time to speak.  I lost about $3000 worth of items that were uninsured but I could care less.  If we can generate some noise I would grateful.

Christina,

Your right, the government response to disasters is not enough, this is where we need to band together and help each other.

Take care!

Empire Realty- You rock.  We need more folks like you.  The citizens of Galveston are strong and working hard.  It has been a blessing to see them notice one another and lend a hand to each other on our road to recovery.

Pat-  I'm trying.  Thanks for your time and comment.

Scott and Jennifer-  Thank you for your help and your church is in my heart.  I would love to send them a personal note if you can give me their website or address.  I know we need all the help we can get.  God Bless you all.
