Good news for peole seeking homes in the area near Avon and Avon Lake. Look no further than North Ridgeville just south Avon and Avon Lake. Planners of the 218-acre Hampton Place, a massive single-family and cluster home development set to be among the city's biggest planned community developments, cleared a hurdle Tuesday night when the city planning commission approved preliminary plans. The commission's 4-1 vote also rezoned the site from an R-1 residential zoning classification to a special zoning classification for planned community developments.
Hampton Place is to be built north of Center Ridge Road between state Route 83 and Stoney Ridge Road.
A total of nine acres of wetlands were confirmed by an Army Corps of Engineers analysis done for Valore. "We can't drain the wetlands (by law), but there could be footpaths in those areas."
Valore later said that the cluster housing would have staggered setbacks and varied driveways to make them appear less utilitarian. "We want this to still be attractive long after we're gone."
