Newsletters? Are they effective or just junk mail

Each month I do a newsletter. I procrastinate as long as possible. I write the articles, I copy them, address them, bulk mail them. It is not something I look forward to.

Call and emails would come from my past clients and sphere occasionally, but now there is no response. Are my newsletter still effective? Are my clients taking notice of my efforts to keep in contact?

I started writing notes to my database a few months ago and have had great response. I wonder if my newsletters are personal to my clients. It may be too vague and mass mailed for them to care.

Any thoughts?

I love some newsletters!  Because

  • they are short
  • they have content that is interesting to me or about my community
  • they help me learn something new
  • they give me a new perspective
  • they show me how to obtain more information if I wish

I received one yesterday that was paragraph after paragraph of verbage that quite frankly I didn't read.  The topic was relevant, but it needed some graphics, shortening and it would have given me a better impression!

Constant Contact may make your newletters easier -- send them via email and cut your costs!  I think your newsletter is great to keep your name in front of clients and they will remember you as a real estate professional when the topic comes up with friends, so keep up the good work!
