The roller coaster that is my career

This is how last week started...roller coaster

See the people in the front, screaming their heads off?  Yep, that was me.

On Monday: Deal 1:  50 k house, 20% down.  Sounds pretty easy right?  Well, add in A-Frame home.  Uh-Oh.  All bets are now off.  There is NOTHING to compare the home to.  We went back 2 years.  NOTHING.  So it's not looking good and I'm heading down the hill.  I'm afraid it might be a big one.

Tuesday:  Deal 2:  This poor house.  The poor sellers.  A cute as a bug brick ranch.  Been under contract 3 times before.  3 TIMES!   So I finally have it under contract again, for the 4th time.  First call of the morning is from the buyers agent: "Hey Kelley, this doesn't look like its going to happen..."  I am now gaining momentum and heading down the hill faster.  I can't see the bottom at this point.

Wednesday:  Ahh, there it is.  The bottom.  A listing lost.  Reason?  The market is bad so let's just rent the house out till spring.  Believe me; I pulled out every thing I could think of out of my bag o' tricks, but to no avail.  I'm pretty much full throttle down the hill at this point.  And I don't have a seatbelt!!

Thursday:  What's this?  A bend in the road?  A call out of the blue today to list a home.  A GREAT family home here in Eaton, Ohio.  From someone in my sphere.  Someone I don't have to go in and give the presentation to.  Someone who specifically wants ME.  I think the ride is changing.  And I'm starting to like it.

Friday:  YES!  I LOVE roller coasters!  They rock!  A new buyer looking to purchase a second home in Lakengren OH, brought to me courtesy of?  My ACTIVE RAIN BLOG!  AND, another new listing brought to me courtesy of?  You guessed it.

So on my weekends I chow down on corn dogs and funnel cakes, and get ready for my next ride.

It IS a roller coaster business, and I wouldn't have it ANY other way!

Loved the Roller Coaster Ride!  I think I was on it with you.  I know I have been on it before, probably will again, especially in the next 3 to 5 years!  Build yourself up with lots of cotton candy and oh, those referred clients.  It makes the ride just another day at the park!  Glad to hear that you are soaring upwards again!

It's a Good Life!

Hi Kelly

I agree that the real estate profession is a lot like a roller coaster ride, but I have to tell you in sprite of the ups and downs it's a great ride.

Good luck and success

Hi Fran.  I thought I saw you back there!  One thing we can say about this market, it makes for an interesting ride.  How many years can you just go on the merry-go-round?  Me, not many...

Hello Lou!  It IS a great ride.  Now, ask me that tomorrow and I may say different :).  But that my friend, is the beaty of real estate.  You can be so down, and one call can change the whole outlook of the day.  Gotta love that!

Hi Bart.  Nope, its not boring at all.  Stressful, yes.  emotional, yep.  Exciting, yes.  Frought with danger, sometimes!  But NOT boring.  Which is why I am digging my heels in and hanging in there, fast market, slow market, no market.

Thanks Janna.  Am I the only one that really dispises A-Frames now?  Oh well, at least the coaster went back up :)

Hello Karen.  I wonder after the election if we'll be headed uphill or down?  hmmm.....
