Located in the heart of Georgia mountain country, Vogel State Park is one of Georgia's oldest and most popular state parks. Not only are the park facilities and amenities second to none, but also the surrounding region is full of places to go and things to see and do.
The 233 acre park features a twenty-two acre lake with a swimming beach, 103 improved tent, trailer and RV campsites, 18 walk-in campsites and 35 rental cabins. There are also 4 picnic shelters and one group shelter.
Trails include the Byron Reese Nature Trail, the Coosa Backcountry Trail and the Bear Hair Trail. These trails interconnect with USFS trails and the Appalachian Trail.
Located at the base of Blood Mountain, the Park is just north of Neel's Gap on the Appalachian Trail.
Nearby attractions include the Blue Ridge Mountains, Helen, Georgia, Amicalola Falls State Park and Lodge, Dukes Creek Falls, Helton Creek Falls, Desoto Falls, Anna Ruby Falls, Brasstown Bald, Unicoi State Park and Appalachian Trail and Walasi-Yi Center.
The park is located 11 miles South of Blairsville on U.S. 29. A daily parking fee is required.
