This week as I did my fall cleaning with about three bags of clothes and several perishables I decided to donate to a local church or organization.

Families and individuals do not have to pay for my donations when I give to a church This makes giving so much better.

Over the last year my team at  F1RST REALTY COMPANY  in Crossville have came in contact with a couple buyers/sellers that have lost their home due to many reasons - divorce, fire, lost job or they just found life had gave them a new obstacle.

We make calls, get donations like clothes, food and help the best we can.  A recent mother found herself divorced, without a home and no belongings. As she was being approved for her loan we gathered clothing and lots of extras to get her and her son back on their feet.  It is in our nature to help others no matter how small the task if we join hands.

Here is a simple link to many of the local charities, churches and outreach organizations in Crossville, TN and surrounding areas.

Awesome Christina. What a big heart you have! Thanks for sharing and encouraging the rest of us to be engaged with the needs of our hometowns. Greetings from Paradise. (I'm also a native Tennessean from Paris)

Christina,

The community reaching out directly to local families is inspiring. The Charity Guide page is a great idea. I do not think there is anything similar in Chattanooga.

Christina.  I love your generousity and that your company is as well.  Life is about giving and there are so many around that need help.  Besides, you never know when one day, we may need the same.

Very nice of you to do so Christina! I always take my clothes and drop them in those drop boxes or the local purple heart. Do you guys have purple heart? It's a big 18 wheeler that usually pulls up and collects these sort of things.

Greg, Purple heart sounds great - We are probably to small just yet.  Located between Knoxville/Smoky Mts & Nashville there are about 300 miles of scenic property and towns with populations of 70G or less.  I'll have to look into it.  Thanks Mr.Nino

Karen ~  Thank you!  We all do little things to help just by second nature... In today's times we will need to acknowledge our situation more. Way to go.

That is so wonderful Christina, great work.  I recently cleaned out my closet and dresser for a woman who was going back to work after back surgery.  I was amazed at how many clothes I had stuffed in there that I didn't need and didn't fit.  I felt really good about helping someone.

Christina, This is really good to hear. I am so glad you are one of those folks who give back and contribute to the community. Our office works with a project that feeds homeless people and I still volunteer with Habitat for Humanity (I was a carpenter, construction worker and furniture builder in another life) and everyone in our office volunteers at different levels in various groups throughout Austin! Keep up the good work!
