Over and Over again, I keep hearing, "I wish I did not have so much money in the stock market right now because I would like to buy real estate".

I agree.  I sold a waterfront dockable homesite in Handsmill on Lake Wylie to a gentleman from Florida.  To purchase the homesite last year, he closed an account where he has his money in the stock market.  We all know the state of the market.  Similar dockable homesites, like the one that he purchased in Handsmill on Lake Wylie are currently selling for approx. 50K more than he paid a year ago!  He called and said that he was so glad to be where he was with his money.

Another Real Estate Broker friend of mine called and said he just closed a house with a client who took her money out of the stock market before the down turn.  She was afraid to put the money in banks because of the insurance.  She took her money and purchased a foreclosed house at an incredible value.  I am sure in  the years to come it will end up being a great deal.

What are you clients doing today?  Are they stuck in the market or out looking for the deals?

Absolutely true! My last contract I had the buyer was going to finance, then decided to just pay all cash. His CD is doing so bad, that he will cash it out to pay for something he feels is a better investment. I would always look at the purchase of a property as an investment in something I own, something I control. Stock? Give my money to a CEO? Never!
