It's a college town that's close to other economically vibrant college towns and is commuting distance to state government jobs in Raleigh, the state capital.”

Durham, NC…which is part of the Triangle Area…is the home of Duke University and Duke University Medical Center. With North Carolina State University in Raleigh, NC and The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill just a half hour in either direction…Durham, NC is also a great place to live if you love college basketball.

Elizabeth, it appears that you and I are in markets that have fortunately been spared the worst of this current financial dilemma and market down turn. Lets just keep our fingers crossed and continue to move ahead. Thanks for the good news about your part of the world!

Elizabeth:  What a great picture of Durham you have put together.  Your statistics look very impressive.  Do you have any figures on how many people are moving into the Durham area from out of state ?  That would be interesting to know.  Thanks for sharing.

Elizabeth - I just love that Bull Durham photo.   Now that Durham NC has been named 3rd best city in the USA for riding out the recession, I might have to think about getting out the cold and highly taxed Northeast and head on down south! :-)
