My Broker Makes It So Easy!

By
Real Estate Agent with RLAH@properties AB95346

In my old companies, if I wanted a fabulous fact sheet and virtual tour for a new listing, I had to pay - through the nose!  There were a few companies that could make it all  happen, but the agents absorbed the total costs.  It could run many hundreds of dollars per listing.

Luckily for me, my broker, Donna Evers, makes it easy.

The rationale is simple.  To grow her (and our) business in a shrinking market means expanding market share.  This is a time when many companies are eliminating what they do for their agents, and many of the agents can’t afford to pick up the slack.   Donna is doing the opposite.

So to make us competitive, she employs Piers Lamb as our office Art Director.  He is a fabulous photographer, a virtuoso at Photoshop, and does really beautiful layout work.  Our fact sheets and mailers are the best I’ve seen, and I’m proud to bring samples with me to listing presentations.  And, oh!  Sellers love them, so I get most o the listings I go after!

Now, I've never worked in any office with an Art Director, and I've worked for most of the area Goliaths.

Last week, Piers went with me to Oak Court for the photo shoot.  This morning, we sat down to put together the fact sheet  It's beatutiful!  It’s classy!  It makes me proud!

This is a huge service that Donna provides to her agents!  And her doing this kind of stuff is one of many ways that engenders total loyalty from her agents and staff.   Oh!  And the other nice side effect is that we are increasing our market share!

This has taught me that, yes, where you hang your license does make a difference, and in this case, a huge one for me!

Patricia -- I'm certainly glad that you have Piers as a resourse and, as importantly, Donna Evers is able to provide access to him as part of the "deal" for hanging your license at Evers.  I think is may be a bit naive to think it's "free", though.

I agree that having a talented graphics person available and having his/her fee for service wrapped into your fee/split is a great service and makes that fee/split much more palatable.  It's even better when the graphics person is personable and responsive and collarborative.

I love to read about someone investing in their people to make an entire office successful.  It is great to be proud of where you work and feel that you are on a winning team.

Hi Pat... I couldn't agree more... where you choose to hang your license DOES make a difference!

BTW, why do the really creative folks out there always seem to wear black shirts? LOL

I am fortunate to be able to do most of that stuff myself, including building my own websites.  Unfortunately very few agents have that capability.
