We (James and Ben) did the first release of some performance enhancements we've been working on this morning.  There's still lots more to do but we think we improved the highest traffic, slowest load time pages on the site.  Here's a before/after of load times in miliseconds for the <a href="http://activerain.com/bloghome">Blogs</a> page as an example.

 

 

One other minor change - you can now edit descriptions for photos you uploaded on Localism.

I was wondering if we would eventually be able to pump up the  localism photos. I have regretted not adding more information on some of them.

@Herb:  Go to localism, login (link on top right) using your activerain username/password and navigate to at least the county level (we don't allow photo uploads at the state level) and you should see "[county/city/neighborhood] Photos" link in the left nav.  Click that and there's an "Upload load Photo Link".  Kind of convoluted... sorry!
