Farewell? I don't think so ---- more like ... See ya later!

Today was absolutely beautiful.  Cool temperatures, a light breeze, bright sunshine ... and the company of wonderful friends.

You see, this was the last opportunity I was going to have to gather some close friends together in order to build a special memory to take with me to North Carolina.  And in true Realtor fashion we wound up at a table full of food!

One thing we Realtors know how to do is eat!  At lest in this neck of the woods.

If you have wondered about where is good for lunch?  Check out The Elephant Bar if there is one in your area.  When given a choice of where to eat I will almost always choose this place.  The menu is large enough so there is something for everybody.  And their original dishes are incredible!

All in all ... I am going to miss my dear friends.  They are terrific ladies and span an age range of 40 years.  Lots of different perspectives, experiences and chatter.  And they will be forever remembered fondly.

As you can see ... we also like to clown around  (**the fella on the left ... he's one of the servers and thought he would join the silliness.)

You can always stay in touch by email.  Friends are a treasure you have to keep in your heart.

Good luck and take care.

Great food, great friends, and great weather..."who could ask for anything more?"  Memories are food for the soul, and the anticipation of new adventures is the spice of life.  OK, enough cliches, but the sentiment is genuine.

Where are you going in North Carolina?  I've traveled around the country quite a bit, but at heart I'm still Carolina blue.  Great food, great people, great state.  I'll be there the first half of November.

Cindy - Friends truly are a treasure.  And while I make acquaintances very easily, I am very particular about those that deserve the title of friend.  Thanks for stopping by!

Ray - "Food for the soul."  I like that!  We are going to the Durham area.  Many more career opportunities for my husband and the overall economic picture is brighter there.  We fell in love with the state and having Elizabeth down there to work with is a real bonus.

Hey Joni!  No - not a tear.  At least not in my presence.  :)  The one that wanted to cry is the one sitting next to me with the long dark hair.  She's like a daughter to me - in fact I'm older than her mom!  Ugh!  LOL

Still boxing up stuff.  Not much left that we won't need to access in the next 2 weeks.  Unfortunately there will always be something that HAS to wait till the last minute.

What a great photo!! It occurred to me...as I was reading this...that you have a way of making deep connections wherever you are. You are just that kind of person to whom others are drawn. You won't ever really be gone from there...as you will find a way to stay connected to those who mean so much to you. You are just expanding your world. I KNOW that you'll have a big circle of close friends here in NC before you know it. I luv ya, my friend...and I am so blessed that you are coming to NC. GBU!

Steve - Yes - it truly is a series.  But I've always had an aversion to goodbye.  I prefer to use ... see you soon, see you later, till next time, behave yourself, and my favorite ... love ya.

Eli - In my life I have known many, many, many people.  But probably less than an eighth of those I've know are the ones I call friends.  I take being a friend very seriously - and I'm super serious about who gets close enough to be a real friend.  But ... you already know ... you're in a special club.  LOL  Love ya, kiddo!  God bless!

Donna - You're so right - they will be with me always.  And each of them knows my door is always open to them.  All it takes is a phone call so I can make a bed up for them.

Marlene - I do cherish them.  Each and every one of them.  And, for the record .... I only pick really wonderful folks as friends.  :)

Cynthia - I know some of these ladies will wind up coming to visit.  And when they do?  Oh my!  We will have a blast!

Carol, It looks like you had a wonderful time...and some dear friends.  I'm sorry, I'm sure you will miss them and they will miss you.  But what wonderful reunions you're going to have!!  And you'll be so much warmer....always a plus :)  Good luck, I'm sure the packing is horrible.
