Hmmm...how do I even start this?

Seven Gables Real Estate has been active in Real Estate for 32 years.

From the beginning, Ron and Bobbie Douglas sought to hire only experienced agents who had a reputation for being ethical above reproach and would put their client's needs before their own.

32 years later, we still hold to those values. How do I know this? Because I'm RECRUITING to our company! Not an easy feat to be sure!

What do I look for when speaking to a possible new addition to our "Family of Seven Gables Agents"?

First and foremost, I look to hire people who are articulate, well poised, have had a successful career doing SOMETHING, and want to have Real Estate as a Career.

Some people are good at lying, and since I'm not a polygraph machine, I'm going to have to trust my instincts at being able to tell the difference...Sometimes this

Turns out to be this....

At which point we shake hands and say good bye.

Wednesday I interviewed a gal...she was a licensed agent, looking for, she says, support.
She felt that she wasn't getting what she needed where she was.
She spoke further on the phone and said some things that made me see a red flag....still, I was curious...I needed more information. I also needed time face to face with her. This was something I was going to need to make a good call.

We set an appointment and met. She seemed nice enough...and then it all came out...all in shades of gray! Things she said about her broker, things she said about her client, things she said about a bank. Red flags in my mind, but I'm not a broker and the things she mentioned SOUNDED funny, but then when she explained further, they made SOME sense!

Time to call in the cavalry....

"Let's set an appointment to have you speak with MY manager..."
"Sure"
Time and date are set....one hour before her meeting with my manager...she calls..."Hi, I'm not going to be able to make it...I signed with (insert company name here)...thank you for your time."

Hmm....maybe my secret mind reading skills are starting to show??
