Feng Shui in The US--A Feng Shui Consultant in Manhattan

Feng Shui Facts:  Stopping a Consultation is NOT a Good Idea!

Whether I'm in Manhattan having a Feng Shui Consultation on site or doing a distance one over the phone, we come across all different kinds of people.  We have the ones who are my favorite-ready for inspiration, light and CHANGE to come into their lives and they look forward to making the changes.

We also have Feng Shui Clients who don't realize that the changes that will occur with Feng Shui will be different for EVERYONE.  No two people are alike, no two homes are alike....changes can happen like a whirlwind overnight or be more of a process that may take some time.

Knowing in the process of Feng Shui and believing in it will help you either way.  If I have a client that wants what they want NOW after a consultation, they just might be getting in their own way from allowing the NEW changes that are supposed to come their way!

This Feng Shui Consultation I did at a distance for someone living in the Midwest.  We had only done half the consultation but my clients were thrilled and had made many of the changes; with that said, there were many more to go.  Perhaps because it took off so quickly for them they did not feel they needed to complete the process (they had only paid for the first half, after all).

On the date of the scheduled follow-up, I received an email telling me they had to cancel.  They did not reschedule and follow up emails from me went unanswered....I was initially concerned but I had received this email, changed just a bit so I am not quoting anyone---and I KNEW they were fine-GREAT even-for nowThe partial email for the first half of our Feng Shui consultation:

Nature by Feng Shui Long Island & New York

"Okay, so since all of that, here's what's been happening (and let me tell you, it's been WOW!!)

One of my listings that has had NO SHOWINGS for 3 weeks, got several showings this past weekend and an offer!  Not a great one, but we can work with it.

Another listing dropped their price a tiny bit and have three new showings.

Another listing got 4 offers over the weekend.

I got a new seller (from Long Island NY!!!) and her company has 2 properties to sell and wants to buy three or four.

Another potential seller called me to do a phone interview and we may list her home -it's an INCREDIBLE location with a lot of drive by traffic that will be seeing my for sale signs.

I interviewed for a new assistant as my current one gave her notice a few weeks ago.  I found a wonderful new person that starts next week. My cup runeth over, I think!!   Usually, I feel so overwhelmed but I just put on some happy music and dug right in."

Belief Feng Shui Long Island

Since my emails went unanswered, I had no way to let this client know that she is definitely on a Feng Shui Roll for now---but not having completed the consultation, things are more then likely to stop : (  By a combination of our Intentions, Suggestions and Work, their life was changing through the power of Energy.  Without finishing the Consultation I am so sad that the Energy will end as well....and their life will returned to the way it was when they had contacted me.

If you decide on a Feng Shui Consultation, find a reputable one with a long time of service-and listen to what they have to say!  Most importantly, when you are one of those fortunate people that Feng Shui helps you to take off, DON'T STOP THE FLOW!

Wow that is interesting........I was just thinking about the one I said I wanted to have ....we should get that rolling!  I was also thinking....wouldn't it be cool do offer a client heck all our clients a Feng Shui Consult as part of the listing package - really when you think of it - it could be your house warming present to them in advance.........and wouldn't that be a unique marketing tool for us as realtors -?  We need to talk!:-)

Maybe they'll cough up the other half when the rewards of the first half close- or will they have to start all over with a new roll once it's interrupted? Verrry interesting stuff, Carole!

The "halfway" mindset is way too prevalent.  But some folks see instant gratification and don't think there is a eed for anything else.

Kind of like .... "It's OK, Doc.  You got that nasty appendix outta there, I'm good to go for now.  Don't worry about stitching things back together."

Dumb, eh?  My point exactly.

When I was younger and became ill I would stop taking the antibiotics once I started feeling better.  Bad idea!  This is obviously the case with your clients.

The girl in the picture is cute.  She looks a lot like my daughter.

Carole: Some people are so used to struggle, that when they experience success it is overwhelming to them and they then begin to struggle with the success. I think this client will come back to you when all her Feng Shui powered success starts to peter out. She knows you can help her, she just needs to learn to accept the success.

Carole that is a shame. And if she or he committed the full thing to you and then backed out unilaterally, well, that's just bad karma. I'm sorry. Very disappointing for you.

I'm just wondering, were you doing a consultation on the agent's home, or office, or business?

Hi Carole,
Hmm, bet they will be back in touch when the "flow" slows down.  Seeing projects through is important no matter what we're doing.

I agree with so many of the comments...that doing things half-way is an attitude that is too prevalent in our society. I'm so glad my mother taught me "IF you can't do something right...don't do it at all!" It has STUCK with me. GBU, my friend!

Rich, In this case you couldn't be more right...halfway is NOT better then not doing it at all.  And while we are so careful to be mindful in Feng Shui, not even replying to my emails told me their good fortune probably won't last (which is SO sad!).

Liz, I have worked with a Realtor where a consult was a gift--the clients LOVED it.  They had me come on moving day so I could immediately do a space clearing and help them in placement of furniture.  I think it's a wonderful gift to give someone!

Cathy, I do too.  I think maybe when Real Estate picks up they might consider it but I wonder about it in this market....

Sally, I'm sorry I have the same feeling---and sorry also that they didn't respond to my emails.  I guess there is always a first time--yet I wonder why.

Laurie, In Feng Shui it is a combination of Energy--the Consultant AND the client.  Their lack of response to my emails to find out what happened told me that I couldn't continue or do another consultation for them but I am sorry they broke the synchronicity.

Carol, I have never encounted it before--at first I was worried about them but that email told me they were fine--WERE.  There was much work that needed to be done and my concern is things will go back to exactly what they were--which wasn't very good.

Melody, That's a good example but sad for me because I don't believe it will last---and the time is well past that I could "pick up" the consultation again--

Missy, We hadn't completed the consult, there were changes to make in key areas in the home.  It's too late for me now to pick up the consult--and I'm doubtful the results would be nearly as good.  If I had received an answer it MIGHT have made a difference.

Teri, She may but I would not do the consult again.  She needs to be as careful and mindful as I am--and the lack of response first had me worrying, then wondering.....

Michelle, I don't know if you'll be back but you KNOW Feng Shui--I couldn't start with this client again after what happened, would you be able to if it were you?  It's just not mindful to leave things hanging.....and I need to work with clients who care as much as I do.

Mary, The consultation was for her home--which we believe should be done first as your home supports your business.  She sent such a powerful email and then--gone.  With no reply.  It's never happened before and I hope doesn't happen again.

Fernando, Michelle knows Feng Shui, I am curious to know if she would pick up the consult again if they do call....After this time I don't believe it would be as effective.

Cynthia, It's particulary important in Feng Shui--everything to do with Feng Shui seems to be doubled.  They got such wonderful results but I do wonder that it will end...just as quickly as it started.

Elizabeth, My mother said the SAME thing to me---and they are words to live by!  My grandmother used to say "You're only as good as your word" -- she was right too!  Where are these principles now?  GBU always!

Carole: This story is not finished, more pages to turn. We don't know why she is not responding. Maybe there is a reason that none of us could guess.  Or maybe she is just someone who is limited in their capacity for success. I think you will hear from her again, then the choice is yours. I wouldn't put any more energy into it, but I would wait to see before making a decision.

Michelle, Thank you for coming back and for your insightful answer.  I believe there is an element of hurt on my end because I did not get any replies but you are very right, I don't know what's been transpiring in their lives and need to put my personal feelings aside.  I appreciate your perspective and your insights very much--Thank you!

Hi Carole,

Wow, with all that is going right for her you won't think that she would want to quit the consultation, she would be eager for more. But maybe it was to much for her and she needed to step back or maybe something has come up in her personal life that has thrown her for a loop.

Melissa, I still haven't heard and maybe will always wonder why.  I don't have materials that teach it, I do have packets that I send to clients....not sure if you would understand it but I'll be happy to send one if you'd like.

Trace, I can't imagine the reason she stopped.....there was so much work to do yet and it was important.

Sylvie, I can't imagine stopping either but there was no response to any of my emails.  I always wonder if I said or did something that I just can't think of--but I really don't believe I did.
