Today I found myself thinking of the many things that are about to take place in the next 30-90 days. The presidential election could be the most important part of modern day history. With that in mind, can we really believe anything that is in the media? I personally find the media ridiculous, this is only my opinion. What I find is even more troubling is the fact that we know more about Joe the plumber than we do about the candidates policies. Good luck to you Joe!
Financial markets will always have ups and downs. We need to make sure that we know our local markets. Find ways to make money even in down times. Investing in real estate is still a good thing in South Dakota, especially in Rapid City. Our market continues to see an increase in value. Don't miss this opportunity to get in while home prices are still affordable. We are not seeing the values rise at the same rate we did in 2005, however they are still going up.
Legislation for first time home buyers making less then $75,000 (individuals) and $150,000 (couples) will receive a tax credit up to $7,500 for purchases made prior to 7/1/2008. This is a phenomenal opportunity for buyers to make the transition from renter to home owner. For those of you waiting for the market to bottom out, the only way to see the bottom is in the rear view mirror. Don't wait, now is the time to buy.
