May God bless you Greg for taking this step of faith.  I quickly joined the group after reading this post.  I agree with you wholeheartedly and feel that accountability is missing from the body of Christ today.  I think time (and watered down Gospel) has drawn us away from intimacy with our Savior.  The farther we are apart from Him the harder it becomes to remember our absolute dependence upon Him.

I simply love the fact that you mentioned us "getting in the Word" while also holding one another accountable.  I would love to suggest, as an introduction to one another, that we walk through a book or devotional study and post our revelations and breakthroughs...prayers and praise reports here.

There is a book...The Knowledge of the Holy by A.W. Tozer that is ABSOLUTELY AWESOME.  It is a book written many many years ago that seems so necessary today.  It can be a tough read if moved through at too quick of a pace.  It's written in what I call "early century" english so there is that slight challenge at times but moreso some of the truths expressed can truly leave you speechless.

If there are any takers...I am going to post this is our new group as well!!!  Remember, this is just a suggestion and I will not be offended if no one wants to do it.

Be Blessed!

P.S. - If there are any of you that wish to embark on this time of sharing, I know where this book is printed in its entirety on the internet so you don't have to go out and purchase the book.

Hi Tracy - I wrote a rather lengthy reply to the comment you posted on my blog stating the above...and to let everyone know who hasn't seen that comment (it's way too long anyway), that I think this is a wonderful idea!  Count me in.  Are you proposing to lead in this venture, or to get it started and let anyone who wants to take a stab at the next page/chapter have a go at it?  If you have a link to post to the online book that would be great, especially for each study posted so that people can quickly find it.

I am going to post an "Introduction Blog" along with a number of other blogs about the group, and also I will be asking for suggestions of what people would like to see in the Group.  This isn't about me and what I want, but about what the Group thinks will best help us with our goals in this group.

I'm looking forward to getting started in this book!!!

Hi Greg,

I am so pleased at your response (here and in the other post).  Click Here to be taken to an online version of the entire book of The Knowledge of The Holy.  (If I may suggest to anyone taking this route--copy and paste each chapter into a Word document.  Maybe do 5 at a time...you never know.  The link that works today may not work tomorrow.)

As far as your comment (in the other post) regarding disagreements and arguments shall we further embark to say that we are gathering according to Ephesians 4:1-6?  Or maybe even James 3:1-18?  God's mighty word is our sword as well as our banner that we proudly wave to declare His glory...not our own.  Should any differences of opinion breakforth: 1) they should not take place within the audience of this post 2) parties to said disagreement should be encouraged to take their disagreement to the Scriptures...with the help of a good commentary, bible dictionary, Lexicon and other Greek/Hebrew texts...they should be able to work through their differences.

I strongly encourage EVERY Christian (seasoned or brand new) to approach the word as the Berean's did: These were more fairminded than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word will all readiness, and searched the Scriptures daily to find out whether these things were so. (Acts 17:11).  I know we all love our Pastors, Bishops, Ministers, Preachers, Elders, Reverends, etc., however they are human vessels.  We have to know and understand the Word for ourselves not just rely on the "hope" that others are "rightly dividing the word of Truth".

As far as "leading" this study...I don't mind facilitating the study.  This is for all to interact and share.  Participants will be encouraged to share how a particular chapter spoke to them, what scriptures were placed in their spirit as they read, how God revealed Himself...just whatever their experience was.  You'll see once you read a chapter that this gets really deep.  I don't see us traveling any faster than a chapter a week.  Some chapters we will have to read 2 or 3 times to let it really be absorbed in our spirit.  We need time to meditate, etc.  Anyone who joins us on this journey, I really encourage you to read during your quiet time.  Each week, we can add a post within this group for the following chapter.  And all are free to add and share.

What do you think?

Hi Greg,

Give me a holler when you get back online and once you have had an opportunity to download the first chapter from the link.  I am not opposed to starting with just us.  Others may come...or not...God will be glorified nonetheless.
