I had someone asking me about sources for fake foods to use in staging. I haven't used any to date but these items might be useful for staging a vacant home or a model home.

Here are a few links that I found:

Using props may not be for everyone but they can be a great way to add a little life to a room. Although fake food is initially more expensive than its real counterparts, if properly cared for it can be used time and time again.

I would also caution against using too much fake stuff, a little can compliment a room where a lot might just seem tacky.

Thanks I was just looking for some fake food, though it would be a great way to diet.

Thanks for the links, I'll check them out.  I recently mentioned fake pies that smell like real pies and look like real pies.  I'm going to get one for my next staging.  I've also used bread sticks which don't rot, and look nice.  Those and fake fruit are my standards.

Hi Lucie,

I would love to find some realistic looking french bread, grapes and cheese.  I'll check out your sites.

Thanks for sharing!

Lucie,

Now I need a snack -- those mint brownies looked pretty good!  Thanks for the links.....very helpful info.  Some of the fake foods are fairly realistic (but personally I'd never use a fake "meal" in staging).

Lucie, Thanks for the good info. You are bookmarked. How is the move coming along. Now the last question. To Faux or not to Faux?

WOW Lucie thanks I have been looking for glasses with wine in them, found it on your site. They are rather expensive tho, but in  a vacant house that I just recently staged it would have been a WOW.

Thanks much
