WARREN BUFFET'S "BUY NOW" CALL GETS LUKEWARM RECEPTION.

SARAH PALIN WILL APPEAR ON SATURDAY NIGHT LIVE

So much news, so little time to absorb. All this big stuff happening and all I can do in the little town of Paradise, California is sip my morning coffee. And boy is it good. Fresh ground Starbucks Verona blend. I've finally figured out the perfect ratio of coffee to water and the caffeine is starting to do it's thing. Today's weather is supposed to be in the low 80's with nary a breeze. It is still early Saturday as I write, so the chorus of birds are resonating throughout the neighborhood. I have no appointments  and the kids are with Mom, so my biggest challenge so far is to choose the manner in which I would like to enjoy this lovely autumn morning.

I think I'll take advantage of that coffee surge and work on my unfinished food book. I received an e-mail this morning from a Monterey food writer that reminded me of the race we started to see who finishes their manuscript first. Maybe later I'll fire up the Harley and take a short cruise through the foothills and canyon. After that, I'll consider a nap and then rack my brain for ideas on how to spend the upcoming evening. The moon forecast is mostly bright and full, which begs for back porch time. I suppose I'll just have to play it by ear.

Monday morning, I will turn on the early morning news, plan my day and pay attention to the headlines once again. For now though, I think I'll pour that second cup.
