Hey bro! Did you know Joe's not even licensed? Man I couldn't beleive it! Then I found out that he doesn't make but 40,000 and never had near the money to buy the business, which turns out is not for sale. Man, I was surprised! Good luck at the rally!

Some people don't understand that you don't have to be a licensed plumber to work for a plumbing company, and Joe never said he was in process of buying the company, just that he would someday like to. Let's discredit the messenger so all can forget the message/question.

Wish I COULD ATTEND!!!!!!! But alas Georgia is just a tad too far...I heard Joe the Plumber this morning on Fox and he was excellent!  and I will NOT want to share the wealth (though this year, it might be the deficit!!!).

An Obama quote from the New York Times:

"I am convinced that if there were no Fox News, I might be two or three points higher in the polls," Obama told me. "If I were watching Fox News, I wouldn't vote for me, right? Because the way I'm portrayed 24/7 is as a freak! I am the latte-sipping, New York Times-reading, Volvo-driving, no-gun-owning, effete, politically correct, arrogant liberal. Who wants somebody like that?

While this and his other recent comments about Fox News are concerning, the news media is and should be fair game. But when you add the recent Obama campaign comments and media attacks on "Joe the Plumber" our 1st Amendment right to the freedom of speech is weakened. Joe is not a politician, he's not a celebrity he's just an average Joe like you or me.  Joe didn't really even make a statement, he merely asked a question.

While we are hopefully a very long way off from major news broadcasters being intimidated into silence I have to wonder how many "Joe the Plumbers" will fearfully hesitate or perhaps refrain from exercising their 1st amendment right to the freedom of expression. It is a sad commentary indeed when that same freedom is used as a weapon against itself.

Bob,

Good luck at the rally.  Let us know how it goes.  Regarding the Obama quote above posted by Scot that is the most absolutely incredible thing I've ever seen.  So Fox News is biased and none of the other media outlets are not biased in the other direction?

Good luck Bob, I'm curious to know if you did speak and your topic.  I for one feel back about Joe the Plumber. It's obvious the left media is using him to move the attention away from the facts. Plus, didn't a democratic congressmen or something like that in New York owe about $50K from back taxes and claimed "he forgot"?  I'm going to have to research that one.

Good luck Bob!! I wished I lived close enough to attend. The Messiah made a stop in Roanoke Friday (about :30 min from my house) I didn't go....I knew I would get upset.

Any other person would of been 14 pts. up by now..what does that tell us? People do NOT like what they see & hear, they are just so afraid & want something new (change) that their willing to take a chance on anyone at this point. Scary..

Hope the rally goes well!  As Realtors, we are all small business owners!

LaNita - It was Charlie Rangel.  Apparently he had $75,000 of rental income from a condo in the Dominican Republic that he "forgot" to report. http://www.nytimes.com/2008/09/11/nyregion/11rangel.html

I dont think it will add up to $50,000 in total taxes but with the taxes and penalties will still be chunk.  Its interesting that according to the article he is on the tax writing committee in Congress.

Scot- Thanks for the great comment and thanks for coming to the event.  It meant a lot to me that you and Rene were there.  Too bad the batteries went dead :-)
