This is my first Blog...I signed up for ActiveRain several days ago and have been trying to figure out what to blog about.  I spent time reading other blogs to get ideas and noticed that the general theme is basically to sound off about any concerning issues.

So here it is...I was reading an article in Broker Agent News Magazine about Maintaining Honesty and Integrity.  Do you find that you are working with people that are dishonest and have very little integrity more often than not?  As an agent who considers to be a consultant rather than a "sales person" it is my duty to consult with my clients on how to make a great business decision.  I am giving them the tools they need to make their choices and in turn they look to me for leadership and guidance.  Wouldn't the Real Estate profession be looked at in higher regard if everyone treated their clients in this fashion?

The article states "...an act of dishonesty can't be hidden and it will instantly undermine the authority of a leader. But an act of integrity is just as obvious to all concerned.  When you are in a leadership position, you have the choice of how you will be seen, but you Will be seen one way or the other."

I think we should all ask ourselves, everyday, "How do I want to be seen, today, and for the rest of my career?" Because what you do today will affect what happens to the rest of your career. It's easy to get caught up in the need for money, or "things".  We all know that it's either sink or swim in Real Estate.  You can have all the material things in the world, but if you've lost respect for yourself, what do you really have?  The only way to attain success and enjoy it is to achieve it honestly with pride in what you've done.
