There is one thing all luxury home specialists tend to agree on, the location of a home generally reflects the lifestyle of the luxury home buyer. How close a home is to services often is one factor used when choosing a location in a luxury home market. How far away are work, school, shopping, and recreation? Also, the environment around a home is a determinant of how desirable a luxury home is, as for most luxury home buyers the quality of a neighborhood is on the top of the list of items they look for. Luxury home communities will sometimes use CC&R’s to keep their values up and a neighborhood looking nice. Examples of restrictions a homeowners association can put on a home are limits on the number of cars a homeowner can have in front of their home, the color a person can paint their home or not allowing a flag pole on your lawn. Therefore, location is one of the largest factors in the decision making process for a luxury home buyer.
