Art Work at the Beach in Encinitas, California - By Man and By Mother Nature

Human-made art work at Stone Steps Beach in Encinitas, CaliforniaFolks who know me know that I am particular fond of the beach. Always have been. And being here in Southern California presents wonderful opportunities to enjoy beach life and to appreciate the beauty of the sun, sand, shoreline and water.

In between open houses and errands, I stopped by Stone Steps Beach in Encinitas, one of my favorites (more about the beach in another post). I was fortunate enough to be there when the local beach artist came by and so I spent time watching him create his living artwork on the beach, while the tide did its part of erase it.

I was also struck by the beauty of this particular beach and snapped a few photos of the art created by Mother Nature - the eroding bluffs form incredible shapes and colors which change constantly on the light as the sun was setting.

The colorful human-made art at the top of the stairs was in stark contrast to the sand art being created below and the colors of the sandstone bluffs and vegetation. While Mother Nature tends to create her art slowly over many years, watching the man-made designs evolve in the sand over a 20 minute period was lots of fun.

Hope you enjoy the slide show of this gentleman's work.

Moonlight BeachJeff, we must have had the same idea.  Here is a picture I took of my daughter the other morning at Moonlight Beach in Encinitas along the beach... the bluffs are amazing.  Did you see the water oozing out of the hillside and creating trickling waterfalls?  Awesome!

Hi Jeff, Glad you captured this and it demonstares that no matter what the conjures up, it can be manefested in the sand at the beach. Sure gives me some ideas about how we can market some our listings, :-) An entertaining Slide presentation.

I spent several hours today trying to create some new skins. Nada as yet. But we need some new skins and some new styles.

I can feel the sand in my toes.  Wonder what the guy in your great slide show was smoking?

Jeff, art is always a draw for me. I love the sand art and the slideshow it tops! David and I are both artists and so we love to see life through the "artist's eye". All of life should be an artform.

Susan - what fun. I know exactly where that spot is. I love that beach, despite the dangers of the crumbling bluff in places. Love that photo you took.

Liz - thanks for the compliment.

Thank you, William. Agree withy ou on the skins.

Vicki - it's on Neptune at El Portal I believe.

Susie - I don't this he was, but he was being very thoughtful about his design, parts of which kept disappearing in the tide.

Thaks, Paddy. It was a great day to be out taking photos at the beach.

Diane - well I actually took more pics and did 4 videos of the Encinitas beaches - to be posted soon.

Jeanean - well it was fun toa ctually see this guy at work as I have seen photos of him before. I guess as an art collector (I am pitiful at art myself) I also am interested in things that deight the eye and other senses.

George - well I thinks that's ture. And she does what she wants when she wants. No inspiration needed.
