For those of you read my blog consistently you know that I have given a meriad of reasons why I love the Highlands. From the lovely and diverse homes, friendly folks and beautiful tree lined streets and parks, to the abundance of great places to eat and be entertained.
Today I wanted to take a moment and share with you another reason I love the Highlands, and that reason is called Dreams With Wings! Dreams With Wings is Metro Louisville's largest non-profit group offering support services for individuals with mental retardation, developmental disabilities and autism. They are located in the heart of the Highlands on Bardstown Road. (next to Za's Pizza, Yummy)
This weekend is the annual Jack O'Lantern Stroll held at the Bellarmine Univeversity Campus. They will have the worlds largest pumpkin pie, Trick or Treating for the children, crafts, Bands and spooky story telling! They will have 1000 carved pumpkins of all shapes and sizes. Please do not miss this as all the proceeds will go to the Dreams With Wings organization.
When you attend, take a few minutes before or after and drive or walk the neighborhood around the campus. Belknap and Deer Park are just a couple of neighborhoods in the Highlands that surround the campus. If you like what you see call me and I can get you in to take a closer look at any of the homes in the highlands that are for sale or we can begin a search for your special new Highlands Home! I live just two short blocks from the campus and can think of at least 20 homes within walking distance currently on the market. As the Highlands area is very desirable they usually don't stay on the market long, so call me today.
