Hi Karl, Personal loans only work if done in good faith and repaid early and according to the terms of the loan.
Hi Karl, Good tips. Especially number two. Just say NO but in a nice way. :-)
Good advice...I am the wicked sister in law that put an end to my husband (when he became my fiance and now husband of 16 years) being the family hotel and bank....if we had just the interest we would probably pay off our mortgage !
Karl- Good tips! I've found that most people won't be very offended if you politely say no. A lot of people understand that ia loan is a big favor to ask of someone and will (usually) be understanding if you explain that you can't help.
Shirley - Yes, you definitely want to be nice about it. I think that most people would be more understanding to saying no in this economy.
Sally - You are probably less popular with your in-laws for doing that, but I'm sure it made your relationship with your husband stronger and less stressed.
Ilyce - I would think people will be more understanding if the no is coming from someone in the housing market like us. The media has done a good job of making sure everyone knows times are a bit tough for us right now.
