Ok, I am trying a video for youtube, I called it What the inspector see's and you may not,I put it on our web site too, Now be nice as this is my first shot at something like this, so please go and check it out and let me know what you think

A good start here... I honestly think, though, that the default music that you're using on this dated visual tour program needs changing. I also think it is way too slow-moving and needs audio. I think you should consider a different program for doing this. Audio would let folks know what they are looking at, in general, like the beginning pic 'I check that all plugs are safe and grounded, functioning, etc... Hope you don't mind my suggestion since you wanted to know what the reader thinks... Think about a Flip video camera (under $200) or check out realestateshows.com.

Charles, the video looks good. I agree with Mara, it could use some narration and it is a little bit too long to hold a viewers interest. Good first attempt though.

Its a good start. I would agree a running commentary would be good and a higher quality photo or some video. Good concept and good luck refining it!!!!

I agree... the photos are good (although personally, I liked the music)... but it isn't always clear, what you've found that's bad.

If you can't easily manage audio and running commentary, then maybe white text, and an arrow pointing to the offending area... with a description (ie: Missing flashing!! ---->)

also, the opening text should be WHITE on the leafy background... 'cause the black is hard to see.

The others already have made all the good comments. I didn't hear any audio the first time, probably because I was jammin' to Eric Clapton's "Unplugged" album. So I had to turn him off for a few minutes. Because of the quality of YouTube videos, I would actually have been inclined to use still photos as a slide show rather than a video as you have done.

OK, thanx for all the input, I tried to do another one, but it was too long and will have to redo it, man what a pain. So check back soon.

Hey, Chuck. Russel sent me over this way. I like the video, but I agree with many of the others that it needs some text or audio to tell us what we're seeing. I worked with Russel as a home inspector for four years, so I knew some of it, but some of it, like the roof, was beyond me. Five minutes or so is quite long for a video. You might consider doing a series of videos about each are of the home inspection--appliances, bathrooms, roof, foundations, etc. Keep them to a minute or so, although you might be able to go longer if you have good text and/or audio.
