I started with Active Rain a few years back and have told a few people about it but have not done much with it, that is until now, I just found that the guys that I have told about Active Rain have joined and now they are way a head of me in points but none of them signed in under me so I am not getting any of their love points. The problem is I didn't know I had to do anything, I just thought they would put me in as the person they heard about AC. This does not seem to be fair but then again what in life is fair, I will fix them and blow them out of the water with points .......that is if I can figure out how to do that. Anyway I can get them under me now or is too late?

David, the best and easiest way to tell others about Active Rain is to use the link on your home page that says Invite Others. That way you get bonus points IF they use the link that gets mailed to them to join. I don't think AR will give you points after they have already joined without having used a referral link.

I had spoken to a sales rep from House Values last year. Their plan sounded to me like I would be paying a monthly fee for a list of people that just wanted a CMA on their home, rather than a list of motivated sellers who were ready to list their home for sale. I would rather pay a referral at settlement to another agent for a bonafide client than buy "leads" from one of these companies. House Values kept using the line that their fees were expensive but I would cover it with one transaction.
